Police want the public’s help in fi nding the armed bandit who roughed up and robbed an 87-yearold woman on a Ridgewood street last week. At noon on Wednesday, March 23, authorities said, the suspect– described as a black male between 40 and 50 years of age and standing between 5 foot 5 inches and 5 foot 8 inches tall– approached the victim who was walking in the vicinity of Cypress Hills Street and Shaler Avenue near the Ridgewood/ Glendale border. Police said the crook pushed the woman to her ground, then displayed a fi rearm, removed her grocery bags and fl ed the scene. Offi cers from the 104th Precinct responded to the scene. The victim was not seriously injured. The bandit was last seen wearing a red jacket and a dark baseball cap.
