A native of Brooklyn, she was the wife of the late Gaetano, devoted mother of Freddie and Tommy and their wives Diane and Denise, and daughter of the late James and Sadie Bueno. She is also survived by two grandchildren. RUPPEL died on Monday, March 23, at the age of 90. He was the husband of the late Anna Ruppel and a loving father, father-in-law and grandfather. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II. Eleanor was married to the late Arthur Devlin and preceded in death by her sisters Marie Johnston and Sally Boeringer and nephew Edward W. Malin. She was the beloved sister of Gertude Malin, devoted aunt of William Malin, Mary Ann and Roy Elberfeld, Judy (nee McCarthy) Malin and Jeanne and William Ellis, and loving great-aunt of Mary Ann Denner, Anissa Sullivan, Edward Malin, Sean Malin, Ryan Malin, Jennifer Kramer and Andrew Ellis. She is also survived by 14 great-great-nieces and nephews. Eleanor is the second-longest parishioner at St. Matthias Church in Ridgewood, where she was baptized and married. She was also involved in their Girl Scouts program for more than 50 years and was part of the family business, the Maria Johnston Art Shop on Fresh Pond Road. PENDLETON (Uncle Sonny) of Maspeth died on Monday, March 16, at the age of 83. He was the dear brother of William and Kathy Pendleton, loving uncle of Billy Jr., Christine and Tracy Nolan and cherished uncle of Jesse, Stephen, Samantha and Rebecca. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II.
