OBITUARIES
DUVAN XAVIER GIRALDO died Friday, Feb. 18, at the age of 34. He was the
beloved son of Maria Fernandez and Duvan Giraldo Sr., loving brother of Ivan and
Leo, cherished godson of Joanne Sanchez and dearest godfather of Xavier Fernandez.
He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Mass of
Christian Burial was off ered at St. Sebastian Church on Monday, March 7, followed
by entombment at Mount Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Papavero Funeral
Home, Maspeth.

JESUS A. VERDEFLOR died Tuesday, March 1, at the age of 83. He was the beloved
husband of Helen G. Verdefl or, loving father of Flordeliza, Annabelyn, Jonas, Lauren
and Stephanie, and a cherished uncle and great uncle of many loving nieces, nephews,
great-nieces and great-nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was off ered at Our Lady
of Fatima Church on Saturday, March 5, followed by private cremation at All Souls
Crematory, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

ALOIS EISENZOPF, of Ridgewood, died on Thursday, March 3, at the age of 97. A
native of Yugoslavia, he was the beloved husband of the late Sieglinde Eisenzopf and
devoted father of Christine Lee, Gloria Eisenzopf and Michael Eisenzopf. He is also
survived by two grandchildren. Cremation was held in Fresh Pond Crematory, under
the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, Ridgewood.

FLORENCE G. CAWLEY died Monday, March 7, at the age of 69. She was the beloved
wife of Steven F. Cawley, loving mother of Matther Cawley and Kerri Burke, and
cherished grandmother of Justina, Makayla, John and Joseph. She is also survived by
many loving brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was
scheduled to be off ered at 10: 45 a.m. Our lady of Hope Church on Thursday, March
10, followed by interment at St. Charles-Resurrection Cemetery, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

JOHN R. LINEHAN died Saturday, March 5, at the age of 61. He was the beloved
son of the late Rita and James Linehan, a loving brother, cherished uncle and dear
friend to many. A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled to be off ered at 9:30 a.m. at
St. Mary’s Church, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.
