Officers from the 102nd Precinct stopped a vehicle operated by Edward Luzon, 22, of Brooklyn at the corner of 77th Street and 88th Avenue at 3:05 p.m. on Feb. 14. According to law enforcement sources, a check of Luzon’s license revealed that it had been suspended. Upon further investigation, police found in his possession a pound of marijuana buds kept in plastic bags as well as $6,000 in cash. Luzon was taken into custody on charges including criminal possession of marijuana and aggravated unlicensed operator, police said. Deputy Inspector Deodat Urprasad, commander of the 102nd Precinct, praised the efforts of the officers assigned to Jamaica Avenue for their work in making the arrest. According to police, the attack took place at 3 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, when an unknown suspect used an unknown object to stab and slice the 41-year-old male victim in his head and lower right arm outside of a home on 95th Street near 91st Avenue. Aft er the attack, the suspect — last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and white slacks — fl ed the scene of the crime on a bike in an unknown direction, law enforcement agents said. Offi cers from the 102nd Precinct arrived on scene with EMS units; the victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police stated. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
