Police said the 35-year-old male suspect was stopped by offi cers from the 104th Precinct at the corner of 64th Place and Central Avenue at 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 29 for allegedly driving a vehicle with tinted windows. Upon further investigation, authorities said, they observed the man exhibiting signs of intoxication; specifi c details about those signs were not immediately available. The offi cers also discovered in his possession a loaded fi rearm. The man was subsequently taken into custody by Police Officer Malik Hirani of the 104th Precinct and charged with DWI and criminal possession of a weapon. Police declined to disclose the suspect’s name. Deputy Inspector Mark Wachter, commander of the 104th Precinct, took to Twitter to tout the arrest, noting that it was the result of a rather simple formula. “Alcohol + gun + car + getting pulled over = Go directly to jail. #onelessgun #NYPDprotecting #dontdrinkanddrive,” Wachter tweeted. 108TH PRECINCT MASPETH, LIC, SUNNYSIDE & WOODSIDE MAN PUNCHED FOR VIDEOING 7 TRAIN DISPUTE A 45-year-old man got punched in the face by a rider on board a train in Sunnyside last month because the suspect believed the victim was videoing his argument with another commuter, police said. The NYPD released on Dec. 28 images and video of the slugger wanted for the incident that occurred on a Flushing bound 7 train at the 46th Street station, in the vicinity of Queens Boulevard and 46th Street, at 11 p.m. on Dec. 22. According to law enforcement sources, the 45-year-old man was riding the train when he observed the suspect in a verbal dispute with another man. Seconds later, police said, the suspect — believing that the 45-year-old man had videoed the argument — punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the fl oor of the car. Both the suspect and victim departed the train at 46th Street, but the victim remained at the station and called 911. Offi cers from the 108th Precinct and NYPD Transit Division 20 responded to the incident; the victim refused medical treatment. Police described the assailant as a black man between 18 and 20 years of age, standing 6 feet tall with a medium build and black hair. He was last observed wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a long white jacket. Anyone with information regarding the assault or the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, visit www.nypdcrimestoppers. com or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577.
