Cops are searching for three
suspects who are wanted in
connection with two separate
robberies in Queens on Feb. 4.
Th e trio struck fi rst in South Jamaica
just before 3 p.m. when they approached
a 46-year-old man in front of 160-15
122nd Ave. and proceeded to punch
the victim, throw him to the ground,
and snatch approximately $200 dollars,
a cellphone, a driver’s license, one credit
card, one debit card and three gift cards,
according to authorities.
Th e attackers then fl ed the scene southbound
on 157th Street.
About an hour later, the trio struck
again, this time in Ozone Park, when
they approached a 14-year-old boy in
front of 103-64 97 St. just before 4 p.m.
Two of the attackers fl ashed fi rearms —
one of them put a fi rearm to the victim’s
back — and demanded the boy hand over
his property, police said.
Th e suspects proceeded to forcibly
remove a jacket, cellphone, sneakers,
hooded sweatshirt, laptop and backpack
from the victim before fl eeing northbound
on 97th Street.
Police released surveillance video and
photos of the three suspects taken from
the second robbery.

Man steals $5,000 from
cash register inside Astoria

Cops are searching for a man who
allegedly stole thousands of dollars from a
smoke shop in Astoria last month.
Police say the burglar broke a look
attached to a gate and entered Tobacco-
N-Vape — located at 33-18 31st Ave. —
through the front door just before 5 a.m.
on Jan. 16.
Once inside, the thief stole $5,000 from
the cash register, as well as nine cartons of
cigarettes before fl eeing in an unknown
direction, according to authorities.
Police released surveillance video and a
photo of the suspect on Feb. 8.
Police say the suspect is between 30
and 35 years old and that he was last seen
wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.

Man charged with
murder after stabbing
his girlfriend to
death in their Corona

Police charged a man with
murder aft er he stabbed his girlfriend
to death in their Corona
home early in the morning of
Saturday, Feb. 8.
Police responded to a 911 call
of an assault in progress inside
58-27 Van Cleef St. at 4:15 a.m.
on Feb. 8. Upon arriving at the
scene, offi cers found 30-year-old
Juliet Ximena Galindo Puentes
with multiple stab wounds to
her body, according to authorities.
EMS arrived and pronounced
her dead at the scene.
Police recovered a knife at
the scene and, while canvassing
the area, responding offi cers
apprehended 30-year-old Edwin
Sarmiento, who was later confi
rmed to be the victim’s boyfriend.
Th e couple lived together
at the site of the stabbing.
Sarmiento was charged
Saturday with murder and two
counts of criminal possession of
a weapon.
