In this autobiography he describes his struggle growing up in Germany in the shadow of his father, a highly-decorated WWII tank commander and Nazi officer. Eventually young Wollschlaeger would convert to Judaism; immigrate to Israel—where he completed his medical education, and serve in the Israel Defense Forces as a Medical Officer. The program will include a candle-lighting ceremony with six Holocaust Survivors, or their children, escorted by student fellows from the Center for Ethnic, Racial, and Religious Understanding, each of whom makes a commitment to combat anti- Semitism and hatred after introducing a Survivor.
