The event will be donating all pro ts to Autism Speaks, the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization. It is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. Producing the show will be Ben’s Best owner Jay Parker and Dr. Bob Baker, a Long Island gastroenterologist and ventriloquist. (How often do you see those words in the same sentence?) Dr. Bob is a favorite on the Long Island comedy scene and has been featured on America’s Got Talent and The Dr. Oz Show. His performances run the gamut of hilarious comedy, expert ventriloquism and astonishing sleight-of-hand. Autism Speaks is a special cause to him, as he has two children on the autism spectrum. Joining Dr. Bob will be Rich Walker, twice voted Long Island’s best comedian by the Long Island Press. Rich has been the opening act for such comics as Ray Romano, Bobby Collins, Gabe Kaplan, and Kevin James, and is the cofounder of Stand-Up University, a school for comedians. Also starring in the show is Carrie Karavas, a tough, street-smart comic who performs both locally and nationally. She has appeared on Comedy Central and was featured at the world famous Montreal Comedy Festival.
