Buff alo man arrested
and charged in murder
of Ozone Park father
A Buff alo man was busted in the fatal
shooting of a young father in Ozone Park
last month, according to the NYPD.
Dwayne Scott, 22, was arrested within
the confi nes of the 102nd Precinct on
Wednesday, Oct. 13, and charged with
murder and two counts of criminal possession
of a loaded fi rearm. He is awaiting
arraignment, police said.
On Friday, Sept. 24, just before 11 p.m.
police from the 102nd Precinct responding
to a 911 call of a man shot in front
of 84-01 102nd Rd. in Ozone Park were
informed that a man who had been shot
was taken by private means to Jamaica
Hospital Medical Center.
Upon arrival at the hospital, offi -
cers observed 20-year-old Brandon
Rodriguez with gunshot wounds to the
chest and left leg.
Rodriguez was subsequently pronounced
dead at Jamaica Hospital Center.
Rodriguez was the father of an
18-month-old boy and he lived just a few
doors away from where he was gunned
down, police said.

Two sought in connection
with Rego Park robbery
earlier this month: NYPD
Police from the 112th Precinct are
searching for two men in connection
with a Rego Park robbery.
At around 3:15 in the morning of
Friday, Oct. 1, a 27-year-old man was
approached by two suspects on the corner
of 63rd Drive and Queens Boulevard.
One of them allegedly pressed a “hard
object” against his body and demanded
his property, police said.
Th ey then forcibly removed an iPhone,
AirPods and a fanny pack from the victim
before fl eeing into the 63rd Drive-
Rego Park subway station.
Th e victim was not injured during the
incident, police said.
Th e NYPD released surveillance video
of the two men.
In the video, one suspect, who was
seen wearing a dark jacket, gray sweatpants
and a dark-colored baseball cap,
jumps the turnstile in the subway station
before opening a gate for the second
suspect. He was wearing a white
hoodie with a red and black baseball
cap.
No arrests have been made. Th e investigation
is ongoing.

Crook impersonates cop to
access woman’s credit cards
Police from the 110th Precinct are searching for a
woman who impersonated a law enforcement offi cer
while executing a credit card scam in March.
Investigators say that between March 10 and March 17,
34-year-old Christopher Keiter identifi ed herself as a United
States marshal and gained the trust of a 61-year-old woman to
allegedly access her credit cards.
Th e suspect subsequently used the victim’s credit cards
to make multiple purchases, police said.
Th e NYPD released images of the suspect on Oct. 13
and asked anyone with information on her whereabouts to
call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
