Queens man shot to death
after dice game: NYPD
Detectives in Queens are looking for
the shooter who murdered a 31-year-old
man following a dice game early in the
morning of Saturday, Oct. 2.
Cops said the fatal shooting happened
at about 1:32 a.m. on Oct. 2 near the
corner of 134th Street and Rockaway
Boulevard in South Ozone Park.
Sources familiar with the investigation
said the 31-year-old man had been
involved in a dispute with the unidentifi
ed suspect prior to the shooting at the
location, where a dice game occurred.
Law enforcement sources said the suspect
had left the scene, only to return
inside a vehicle. Th e shooter walked out
of the car, approached the victim and
blasted him several times in the back.
Aft erward, the shooter returned to the
vehicle and fl ed the location, police noted.
Offi cers from the 106th Precinct
responded to the incident. EMS rushed
the victim to Jamaica Hospital, where he
was pronounced dead. Police have withheld
his identity, pending family notifi -
cation.
No arrests have been made in the
ongoing investigation, police said.

Police investigating
after dead body found in
Oakland Gardens lake
Th e investigation continues in identifying
a man who was found dead in Oakland
Lake on the aft ernoon of Sept. 30.
Local police reported that they found
a man’s body fl oating in the lake in
Alley Pond Park around 12:45 p.m. on
Th ursday, Sept. 30. Cops said that the
adult man was found unresponsive when
they pulled the body from the Oakland
Gardens lake.
EMS personnel declared the man dead
at the scene.
Sources familiar with the case said that
the man is believed to be a person who
was reported missing in September, but
medical examiners are still working to
confi rm the man’s identity.
Th e man’s cause of death is also still
under investigation.

Cops searching for cyclist
who allegedly assaulted
and robbed a pedestrian
in Ridgewood
Police from the 104th Precinct in
Ridgewood are looking for a cyclist who
was involved in an alleged robbery on
the aft ernoon of Th ursday, Sept. 30.
A 53-year-old man was at the corner
of Bleeker Street and Fresh Pond Road
in Ridgewood around 4:30 p.m. when a
man riding a black bicycle approached
him. As the suspect rode past the victim,
he punched him in the face, causing
the man to fall to the ground, police
said.
Th e assailant proceeded to remove
$100 from the victim before taking off
on his bike, traveling westbound toward
Menahan Street.
Although the victim sustained bruising
to his face, he refused medical attention,
according to the NYPD.
Th e suspect is described as a man in his
20s with a medium complexion, weighing
150 pounds with a medium build. He
is approximately 5’9” with a long black
ponytail. He was last seen riding the black
bike, wearing black sweatpants, a gray
sweatshirt, a black backpack and black
sneakers, police said.
No arrests have been made. Th e
investigation is ongoing.
