BWG fi nishes second in Labor Day tournament
The 2005 Blau Weiss Gottschee
(BWG) travel team played in the FC
Copa Cup over the Labor Day weekend,

playing for the first time in an 11
vs. 11 tournament.
During the tournament, BWG was
victorious against three New Jersey
teams: FC Copa Black, FC Copa South,
and Hackensack. However, BWG lost
in the finals against Manhattan Soccer
Club to take second place.
On the USSF Academy side, every
BWG Academy team opened against
the Major League Soccer (MLS) New
York City Football Club (NYCFC).
Three BWG Academy teams managed
to pull off wins: the 14s (2-1),
15s (3-1), and 17s (3-0). The NYCFC
teams won in the 12s, 13s, and 19s age
groups.
