With profound sorrow we announce the loss of John Kantlis,
beloved partner of Denise, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, pappou,
employer and friend to many. John sadly passed away too soon
John was a man of integrity who served the Bayside community for over 40 years
at the Omega Coffee Shop. He adored his customers and became friends with
many individuals and families throughout the years. Many will remember him
sitting at his favorite table with a cup of coffee, a smile and greetings. He was
always there to lend a helping hand to his family, friends, employees, customers,
neighbors, and sometimes even perfect strangers, during good times and during
the bad times as well. His kindness and love were immeasurable. And if he
couldn’t help, he knew someone who could. He was reliable. He was dependable.
To know John, was to love him.
John, 32nd ave will never be the same without you...and neither will those who
knew you and loved you. God has you now, but you’ll live forever in the memories
you helped create and in the love that grew for you in our hearts. Cancer may
have been stronger than your body, but it was not stronger than your spirit.
