 Ten Queens eateries had
 their liquor licenses suspended
by the New York State Liquor
 Authority for violating COVID-
 19 guidelines this week. Among
 the shamed restaurants was New
 York City’s oldest beer garden,
 Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden
 in Astoria.
In addition to the 10 restaurants
 and bars in Queens, 28
 establishments throughout the
 state had their liquor licenses
 suspended for similar violations,
   Gov. Andrew Cuomo
 announced on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
 Over 130 restaurants and bars
 have had their licenses suspended
 since the beginning of the
 pandemic in March, including
46 in Queens, the county with
 the most restaurants found to
be in violation of the governor’s
 executive order in the state.
Th e latest sweep by the SLA,
 which has conducted over
 6,880 compliance checks, found
 Queens establishments committing
 a series of violations, including
 serving alcohol without serving
 food, allowing patrons to
 gather in large groups outside
 and inside, and allowing kitchen
 staff to work without wearing
 masks.
 The restaurants and bars
 with recently suspended liquor
 licenses in Queens include El
 Trono De Mexico Sports Bar
 (38-19 69th St, Woodside), El
 Marquez (88-11 Roosevelt Ave.,
 Jackson Heights), Mangu Patio
 (122-07 15th Ave., College
 Point), Bohemian Hall & Beer
 Garden (29-01-19 24th Ave.,
 Astoria), Café Expresso ( 25-51
 Steinway St., Astoria), Pyramids
 Hookah and Bar (40-19 Bell
 Blvd., Bayside), Aliada (29-19
 Broadway, Astoria), Dominie’s
 (34-07 30th Ave., Astoria), Th e
 Village Green (14-17 150th St.,
Whitestone) and Th e End Zone
 (149-44 14th Ave., Whitestone).
 Businesses found in violation
 of COVID-19 regulations face
 a series of punishments, from
 the immediate suspension of a
liquor license to a $10,000 fi ne.
“Th anks to New Yorkers’ hard
work, we have achieved — and
maintained — one of the lowest
 infection rates in the country,
but now is not the time to let our
guard down. We will not allow
a handful of bad actors or reckless
 businesses to halt or reverse
 New York’s progress,” Cuomo
said. “Th is is about enforcement,
 and while state investigators are
 working tirelessly to enforce
 compliance, local governments
must step up and do their jobs.”
