54 THE QUEENS COURIER • BUZZ • JULY 24, 2014 FOR BREAKING NEWS VISIT www.queenscourier.com buzz “GYPSY” The Rockaway Theatre Company, in partnership with NPS-Gateway National Recreation Area will proudly present “Gypsy,” fresh off its opening weekend of three sold-out performances at the Post Theater at Fort Tilden in Breezy Point. Featuring the music of Jule Styne and the lyrics of Stephen Sondheim, the 1959 Broadway classic has appeared on Broadway no less than give times and, now, is brought to the Post Theater stage for another seven performances. “Gypsy” will be presented on July 24, 25, 26 and August 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. The Rockaway Theatre Company will also put on two matinee performances of “Gypsy” on July 27 and August 3, both at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and children. The company will present a special 10th annual Carol Jasper Memorial Benefi t performance on Sunday, July 27 at 3 p.m. – a “must attend” for all animal lovers as proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales for this performance will be donated to the North Shore Animal League.
