Woman found dead in
Jamaica hotel room: NYPD
A 51-year-old woman was found dead
inside a hotel room in Jamaica on the
aft ernoon of Friday, July 10.
Police arrived at the Gate Hotel –
located at 132-60 South Conduit Ave.
– around 1:45 p.m. on July 10 to fi nd
a 51-year-old woman unconscious
and unresponsive inside of room 407,
according to the NYPD. Th e woman
had trauma to her head and to her body,
police said.
Th e 51-year-old was taken to Jamaica
Hospital, where she was pronounced
dead. Her identifi cation is being withheld
until her family is properly notifi ed.
A man at the location was taken into
custody but no charges have been fi led,
police sources said.
Th e investigation is ongoing and the
medical examiner will determine the
cause of death.

Man steals $20,000 worth
of loot from Hunters Point
construction site: NYPD
Police are searching for the man who
stole nearly $20,000 worth of power
tools and furniture from a construction
site in Hunters Point earlier this
month.
Authorities say the man entered the
hotel construction site at 38-26 11th St.
sometime between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m.
on July 11. Once inside, he gathered the
supplies and furniture before fl eeing the
scene using a stolen hand truck.
Cops released surveillance video and
photos of the suspect on July 18.

Cops searching for group
who threw fi reworks at man
on Far Rockaway train
Th e NYPD is looking for a group of
people who burned a man aft er throwing
a fi rework at him on a train in Far
Rockaway earlier this week.
On Monday, July 13, around 6:15 p.m.,
a group of men were aboard a Manhattanbound
A train that hand pulled into the
Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue station,
according to the NYPD. Someone in the
group then threw a fi rework at a 39-yearold
man, cops said.
Suff ering burns and bruises from the
fi rework, the 39-year-old got off the train
at the Euclid Avenue station and the
group followed, according to the authorities.
Once on the platform, the group
began to punch and kick the man in the
face and body, cops said.
Th e group fl ed in an unknown direction
and the man was taken to Wyckoff
Heights Medical Center where he was
treated for his injuries.
