Fine is responsible for investigating and pinpointing data on communicable diseases and outbreaks from physicians and other medical conservatories. Most recently, she established a plan to control the West Nile virus. INDUCTION Photo courtesy of state Sen. Toby Stavisky Army veteran and Flushing native Jukay Hsu was inducted by state Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky into the 2014 New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame on June 4. Hsu helped developed the first private provincial Iraqi radio station during his deployment to Iraq, contributed to the Hurricane Sandy relief program, and created Coalition for Queens, a nonprofit organization that seeks to advance his borough into one that has greater economic opportunities. Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation’s Michael N. Rosenblut was honored at the Primary Care Development Corporation’s 20th Anniversary Gala. Rosenblut, Parker’s president and CEO as well as chairman of the board of managers for AgeWell New York, was recognized as a leader in the expansion of primary care for bringing managed long-term care services to 3,000-plus people across seven counties. Photo: JoJo Whilden VISIT QueensCourier.com FOR MORE STORIES Bayside residents Eileen Jin and Sam Kim were each awarded a $16,000 scholarship from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New York Tri-State Area’s 2014 RMHC/ASIA (Asian Students Increasing Achievement) Scholarship Program, two of six recipients. The program annually distributes scholarships to a select amount of students who are in need of financial aid and demonstrate good academic standing and community involvement. For the past ten years, Jin has been involved in the Girls Scouts. Kim is a photography editor of The Spectator, Stuyvesant High School’s student-run newspaper, and volunteered at the Korean Heritage School for Adoptees, where he teaches Korean to children whom American families have adopted.
