In each incident, the suspect grabs the buttocks or crotch area of the women over their clothing before fleeing on foot, police said. The man started his groping spree in November of last year when he allegedly grabbed a 15-year-old girl at the corner of 136 Street and 60th Avenue in Flushing at about 7 a.m. According to authorities, the same suspect struck again on March 11 at about 7:50 a.m. outside of 132- 34 58th Ave., near 134th Street, when he groped a 13-year-old girl. The third incident took place at the corner of 136th Street and 59th Avenue at about 7:30 a.m. and involved a 19-year-old female victim. Police have released video footage of the suspect and describe the man as white, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 30 to 40 years old and 170 pounds with a slim build. Woman pushing stroller steals cash in front of Flushing supermarket: cops A woman pushing a stroller stole $220 in cash from a man outside a Flushing supermarket last week, authorities said. The alleged thief — described as an Asian adult female with black hair who was wearing a white coat and black sunglasses — grabbed the money in front of CJ Supermarket at 40-31 Main St. about 11:45 a.m. on March 19, police said. She brushed up against the 52-year-old victim before taking the cash from his left jacket pocket. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 110th Precinct Corona and Elmhurst Queens husband beats wife with hammer to end her suffering: prosecutors An 87-year-old man was charged with assault after hitting his 83-year-old wife on the head with a hammer because he didn’t want to see her suffer as she went into surgery at Elmhurst Hospital, officials said. On March 7, at about 4:40 p.m. Manuel Besteiro went into Elmhurst Hospital to visit his wife Remedious Besteiro as she was being treated and expected to go in to surgery, according to court records. A nurse at the hospital then witnessed the husband strike his wife over the head with a hammer numerous times, and she quickly took the hammer out of his hand. According to the criminal complaint, the 87-year-old told investigators that he went to see his wife in the hospital, where staff told him she was going to have surgery, and because he didn’t “want to see her suffer” he hit her in the head with a hammer. There is no prior history of violence between the couple, police said. The victim suffered contusions and lacerations to the head and received 15 to 20 staples on the right side of her head. Besteiro was arraigned on March 8 and has been charged with attempted assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. He was released on his own recognizance and is expected to appear again in court on April 7. 112th Precinct Forest Hills and Rego Park 65-year-old man assaulted, robbed on Forest Hills street: NYPD Police have released the photo of one of several men who robbed and assaulted a 65-year-old pedestrian as he was heading home in Forest Hills. Three men approached the victim from behind at about 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 2 and struck him in the head with an unknown object, authorities said. They then took his wallet before fleeing in a maroon van on Selfridge and Olcott streets heading toward Yellowstone Boulevard. The victim suffered several lacerations to his head in the attack. Authorities have released a photo of one of the suspects at an ATM, located at 103-48 Lefferts Blvd. in South Richmond Hill, using the victim’s credit card. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 114th Precinct Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights Homeless Queens woman sentenced for 2010 Astoria Park beating, strangulation A 33-year-old homeless woman has been sentenced to 17 years to life in prison for her role in the 2010 fatal beating and strangulation of a 32-year-old man in Astoria Park, according to the Queens district attorney. Kelly Harnett, whose last known address was in Astoria, was convicted of second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and sentenced on March 26 at the Queens Supreme Court. “The defendant, along with a male co-defendant, brutally attacked a 32-year-old man in the park. The victim was robbed of his wallet and viciously beaten and choked to death,” said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown. “This willful act of violence warranted a lengthy prison term.” According to Brown, on July 7, 2010, at about 4 a.m. Harnett, together with Thomas Donovan, attacked the victim, Ruben Angel Vargas, by choking him manually and also with a shoelace from Harnett’s sneaker. Vargas was then kicked repeatedly in the head and torso and his wallet was taken while he lay motionless on the ground. Donovan pleaded guilty in 2010 to first-degree manslaughter and is currently serving 15 years in prison. Wet Basement?
