Sybil Stevens, the main character is a Chicago-based fl ight attendant who fi nds her life completely changed when she is the sole survivor of a devastating plane crash. Sybil fi nds herself having to deal with the unexpected aftereffects of both the crash and her newfound fame. Shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday start at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m., tickets are $18. SATURDAY, FEB. 15 The Jamaica Performing Arts Center (JPAC) is proud to present “Amazing Grace: From the Auction to the White House” as part of its Black History Month Celebration. “Amazing Grace: From the Auction to the White House” is a dance and theatrical event where audience participation is part of the performance. This event takes audience members through the journey of the African American experience from the auction block of slavery to the fi rst black president in the White House. It is a journey that will greet participants as they enter the venue and follow them through the gallery of historical slave artifacts on display. Each of the drawings on view reveals a very different facet of his quest to form a unique artistic identity in the years following his apprenticeship with Brancusi. The selection of drawings on view covers exercises from the life drawing classes he took at Academie Collarosi and L’Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris in 1927, as well as his distillations of signature strains of Modernism he encountered in Paris and New York.
