Crooks gets hairdo, then
robs salon worker
Cops are looking for a man who waited
until his hair was done before robbing a
Jamaica salon earlier this month.
According to police, on the aft ernoon
of Jan. 9, a man was getting his hair braided
at a salon located at 90-38 161st St.
When his hair was done at 3 p.m., law
enforcement sources said, the man displayed
the handle of a black handgun to
the hairdresser and said, “Give me your
wallet and don’t call the police.”
Th e victim told police that, fearing her
life, she handed over the wallet. Once the
suspect had the wallet, he fl ed the scene
on foot.
Police described the suspect as a
25-year-old white Hispanic male with
brown hair, standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall
and weighing 180 pounds.

Man dies after being
shot four times
Police are looking for a gunman who
fi red four shots into a man and killed him
on a Richmond Hill street on Tuesday,
Jan. 16.
At 9:21 p.m. on Jan. 16, offi cers from
the 106th Precinct responded to a report
regarding an assault in front of a home
on 135th Street near 105th Avenue. Upon
their arrival, offi cers found Omaree
Morrison, 19, with multiple gunshot

wounds in his torso.
According to law enforcement sources,
Morrison — a resident of 109th Avenue
in South Jamaica — was in a car with fi ve
of his relatives just before the shooting
took place.
Authorities said Morrison stepped out
of the car and walked a couple of car
lengths away when he was approached by
the unidentifi ed suspect, who then shot
Morrison four times in the torso before
fl eeing the scene on foot.
EMS responded to the scene and transported
Morrison to Jamaica Hospital,
where he was pronounced dead.
As of press time, police did not have
a description of the shooter, or a possible
motive.
No arrests have been made; the investigation
is ongoing.

Train dispute leads
to stabbing in LIC
Police are asking for the public’s help
in identifying a man wanted for stabbing
a straphanger on a 7 train in Long Island
City on Sunday, Jan. 14.
According to the NYPD, the incident
occurred on a southbound 7 train on Jan.
14 at approximately 2:20 p.m., when the
suspect got into a verbal dispute with a
37-year-old passenger.
Th e verbal confrontation turned violent,
police said, when the suspect pulled
out a knife and stabbed the victim in the
back of his right hand. Th e perpetrator
then departed the train at the Queensboro
Plaza station. Th e victim was taken to
Mount Sinai Hospital where he received
fi ve stitches for the laceration on his
hand.
Th e suspect is described as a Hispanic
male in his 40s who was last seen wearing
a purple hooded sweater, a black vest
and blue jeans.

Armed Santa helped rob
Flushing gas station
Th e duo who robbed a Flushing gas station
at gunpoint are the same suspects
behind a Woodside stickup last month,
police announced on Jan. 11.
Th e NYPD released images of the pair
— including one of a suspect donning
a Santa Claus hat and beard — as they
robbed the BP gas station located at
29-16 Francis Lewis Blvd. at 11:10 p.m.
on Jan. 4.
Law enforcement sources said the
phony Santa walked into the gas station
shop, displayed a handgun and ordered a
26-year-old male clerk to enter the bathroom
and lie on the fl oor.
Th e fake Santa’s accomplice then
removed $900 in cash from the register,
police said. Th e duo then exited the
station and got into a silver four-door
Honda Civic that sped away northbound
on Francis Lewis Boulevard.
Police described the fake Santa as a
light-skinned male who wore dark blue
coveralls, light blue shoe covers and white
gloves. Santa’s helper, meanwhile, was
described as a dark-skinned male who
wore a black balaclava, dark blue coveralls
and purple gloves.
During their investigation, detectives
determined that the pair was also responsible
for the Dec. 17 robbery of a 7-Eleven
convenience store in Woodside. Th e suspects
in that caper wore blue coveralls and
hid their faces behind masks and scarves.

Little Neck man found
dead near restaurant
An unidentifi ed man was found dead
with a massive head wound in Little
Neck on the morning of Tuesday, Jan.
16, police said.
On Jan. 16 at around 9:42 a.m., offi -
cers from the 111th Precinct responded
to a call to assist Nassau County Police
at 255-09 Northern Blvd., where they
discovered an unidentifi ed male unconscious
and unresponsive with trauma to
the head, law enforcement sources said.
Police did not specify whether the
man was found inside or outside of the
two-story location, which includes La
Baraka French restaurant. Th e eatery
was closed on Tuesday aft ernoon.
Emergency services responded and
transported the man to North Shore
University Hospital in Manhasset,
where he was pronounced dead. His
identity was withheld pending proper
family notifi cation.
Th e man’s body was transported to the
Medical Examiner’s offi ce for an autopsy
to determine the cause of death. Th e
investigation is ongoing.
