COURIER L 18 IFE, MARCH 11-17, 2022
BY ROBERT POZARYCKI
Cops cuffed a Brooklyn e-biker
for possessing drugs moments after
he struck two women as they crossed
at an intersection on March 4.
Justin Giaquinto, 50, of Bay 19th
Street in Bath Beach allegedly hit
the victims while he rode his e-bike
through the intersection of 19th
Avenue and 76th Street in Bensonhurst
at 6:11 pm on March 4.
Based on a preliminary investigation,
police determined that Giaquinto
was operating his e-bike southbound
along 19th Avenue when he hit the two
female victims, ages 43 and 45, as they
walked through the crosswalk.
Offi cers from the 62nd Precinct, in
responding to a 911 call about the incident,
found the 43-year-old woman on
the roadway with head trauma. EMS
rushed her to Maimonides, where she
was listed in critical condition. The
second victim, a 45-year-old woman,
suffered an injured forearm, and was
also treated at Maimonides.
Police said Giaquinto had remained
at the scene following the
collision. Police found him in possession
of a drug, though law enforcement
sources did not specify
what exactly the offi cers detected.
Giaquinto was subsequently taken
into custody on a charge of criminal
possession of a controlled substance.

What started as an all-night
party in Brooklyn came to a painful
end for two people who were shot
and injured in a hail of gunfire early
Sunday morning, police reported.
Law enforcement sources said
the shooting happened inside of the
SIM Vintage Music Parlor, at 2172
Flatbush Ave. in Marine Park, at
about 3:30 am on March 6.
According to police, the two victims
— a 31-year-old man and a
21-year-old woman — were attending
a gathering at the location when
the unidentified suspect opened
fire. It’s not clear, at this point in the
investigation, whether the shooter
had been participating in the party.
Cops said the suspect struck the
31-year-old man in the left foot and
the 21-year-old woman in the right
leg, then fled in an unknown direction.
Police sources said it’s not yet
known whether they were the shooter’s
intended targets.
Officers from the 63rd Precinct
