Mixing it up BY NATASHA POGREBINSKY Drink and Be White Chocolate Christmas Mix 2 oz of cognac, ½ oz orange juice, ½ ounce of chocolate flavored coffee creamer, a hint of cinnamon powder. Rim a mug with powdered white sugar, pour in hot chocolate and pour over the cognac float. Top with fresh whipped cream and Cinnamon Powder. 28 DECEMBER 2016 i LIC COURIER i www.qns.com Merry New Year’s Eve Sparkler In a shaker combine: 1 oz of pomegranate juice, 1 oz of apple cider, drop of lemon, zest of orange, ½ oz St. Germaine Liquor, add ice and shake well. Pour over a ½ glass of sparkling wine or champagne, garnish with cranberries or lady apples. Cookies & Milk In a shaker combine: 2 oz eggnog, hint of nutmeg and a hint of cinnamon, 2 oz bourbon or brandy, 1 oz of vanilla flavored coffee creamer, lemon zest. Rim a glass or jar with honey and granulated sugar, pour over fresh ice, add whip cream and serve with holiday cookies. Festive libations are the key to a successful holiday party. It’s the one season when our inner kid comes out and you can get away with drinking hot chocolate with booze and whip cream.
