Sunnyside Shines
For the first time, Sunnyside Shines
is partnering with the Turkish Cultural
Center of Queens to bring a Turkish flare
to the pop up market, with a number of
vendors of Turkish food and handicrafts
participating. Cultural performances and
activities will also highlight the vibrancy
of Turkish culture and will include live
performances of traditional Turkish music,
and free workshops in erbu, the Turkish
art of printing marbled designs on paper.
Anticipated vendors for the Sun-nyside
Pop Up Bazaar include a maker
of 3-D printed jewelry, handmade ce-ramics,
neighborhood-branded wear,
Turkish pastries, and more. Vending
will take place in the center of the
Plaza, with additional space for table
seating.
