“Sue Coe: Graphic Resistance”
Running now through September 9
This exhibit highlights the work of Sue Coe, who has spent
much of her career working to expose injustice and abuses
of power through art. Coe explores topics such as sexism,
racism, economic inequality, xenophobia, and animal cruelty
in a variety of mediums. In the past, the artist has stated
that “neutrality is no longer a position we can afford.”
Audiences are able to get a sense of the artist’s concerns,
beginning during the Reagan era and leading up to her
advocacy for animal rights and fight against industrialized
slaughter.

“Panorama of the City of New York”
Ongoing exhibit
The Panorama of the City of New York (pictured above) was
conceived by Robert Moses for the 1964 World’s Fair. This
impressive Panorama was created over the course of three
years by a team of over 100 people working for Raymond Lester
& Associates. The company was hired again in 1992 to bring
the whole model up to date. In 2009, the museum launched
its Adopt-a-Building program, which allowed people to buy
real estate on the Panorama for as little as $100. Since the
program’s inception, some of the newest buildings on the model
include Citi Field, Yankee Stadium and Brooklyn Bridge Park.

musicals and sitcoms, have been replaced by
vlogs, mukbang and unboxing videos. Explore
topics like Intimacy & Tactility, Identity
and Video Games as they relate to videos
produced for online audiences.
