You are an incredible community, filled with inspiring people. From the artist who designs props and costumes for “Saturday Night Live” to the fearless graffiti queen who beat out all the boys when she was still a teenager, you are one remarkable bunch. Remember that bar crawl? The entire issue dedicated to sugar? We’re still recovering from both. That being said, time to get to the point. My fiancé, Alex, and I, are leaving New York to travel around the country and work on a book. It’s in the early stages of planning, but it’s an incredible opportunity and something I have wanted to do since I found out there were places outside of Philadelphia. And, getting to go on this journey with my best friend – flippin’ sweet. At this juncture, I am not sure who is going to take over the magazine, but I have no doubt that you guys will become instant pals. In my final issue of LIC, we interviewed a pastel artist who has brought the balance of solidity and the ethereal into her work, sketching landscapes and sunsets. We also chatted with Josh Deutsch, a jazz musician with colossal talent and a real love of music. There’s also a piece about rock legends and my apartment’s favorite band The Who, helping out Sandy-struck venue LIC Bar. If I’m going out, it’s definitely going to be with a bang. Thank you again for being such a good friend. Let’s keep in touch, ok? All my love, Alexa
