12 JANUARY 2019 I LIC COURIER I www.qns.com
WAITING
Gus, a 3 year old border collie mix, waits patiently on the landmark block of
45th Avenue for passersby to walk by and pat him on the head.
The village-like quality of this residential block, whose homes were built
in the late 1800’s, is very unique to Queens.
All around it, the swirl of new high rise construction continues to
transform the neighborhood in ways never seen before.
Let’s hope this quiet, tree lined block continues to be protected
for decades to come.
