Le Havre Knows How to Party!
BY JILL DAVIS/PHOTOS BY NICK SANTO
As fireworks flew over Fort Totten on June 28,
Le Havre residents enjoyed an early Independence
Day celebration at Pool 2. Le Havre happens to have
an outstanding view of the Fort’s annual fireworks,
which is clearly no secret: over 200 shareholders and
their guests joined in the party, a record-breaker for
the annual event. The weather was terrific and the fun
kicked off at 6pm with music from DJ Jeff.
Fort Totten started the fireworks display at about
9:15. LHOC Vice President Steve Young was there.
“The DJ played music to the fireworks, and he
was excellent,” he reported. The pool was open for
late-night swimming until 10, and Sunflower Bistro
stayed open throughout the evening too, serving food
to hungry partygoers.
Nick Santo, who manages the Clubhouse, oversaw
the event and took care of all the details. “It was one
of the best parties we’ve had,” Steve added, “and
Nick as always did a great job.”
One look at the pictures of the party and you’ll see
what Steve was talking about. So for anyone who
missed this year’s bash, remember: There’s always
next year!
Partygoers smile for the camera!
