seriously. This has been our top
priority and will continue to be for
the foreseeable future. Your wellness and safety is
our top concern and as more information becomes
available about the nature COVID-19 and reopening,
we will adapt and implement those recommendations
from the CDC, Local Department of Health in various
states and global evolutions in our understanding
and awareness.
As Le Havre begins to reopen, we need to work
together to keep our community safe and health. Here
are some of our measures:
To keep everyone safe, we ask all URBN clients to:
• Wear a face mask.
• Please maintain physical distancing measure as
outlined by the CDC with each other and Le Havre
team members.
• Be patient! Limitations on services
and delays of pertinent services have
become more frequent, because of limitations
by local ordinances and executive
order in many states.
Amenity Spaces — We have opened the tennis
courts and, of course, the Le Havre café is open for
take-out and even delivery. We’ve adapted fitness
classes to our new reality, keeping your favorite
instructors teaching. Although we plan to open individual
facilities, they may not be precisely as you
remembered using them. We may be closed for periodic
cleaning, limitations on spaces and amenities
will be in place and bathrooms may not be available
initially. We ask you to reach out to the clubhouse for
the latest events at 718-767-2277.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Brutus

Is There a
Lawyer in the
House?
Management would like to give a shout
out to Le Havre resident Megan Foggia on
passing the New York State Bar Exam. Many
of you may know Megan from her two years
here as a lifeguard and five years working in
the Management Office. She is the daughter
of Linda Foggia, B #5.
Megan graduated from John Jay College
of Criminal Justice and attended Hofstra
University for her postgraduate work on a
full scholarship. And if that isn’t impressive
enough, she earned her Master’s Degree
in Public Health concurrently with her law
degree.
Unfortunately Megan will have to wait a
little while to celebrate; due to the pandemic,
the graduation ceremony has been postponed
until October. Likewise, her job search has
been sidelined for the time being. But not to
worry—we’re certain Megan will be hanging
her shingle soon! Congratulations, Megan, on
your great achievement!

Governor’s Order-Update Regarding Pools and Gyms
In March, the Governor issued
an Executive Order requiring
all gyms, fitness centers,
public pools and other exercised
based businesses to close
in order to contain the spread
of the coronavirus. On March
17, the Governor’s office made
it explicitly clear that amenities
within private apartment
buildings and complexes were
included in that order relating to
gyms, fitness centers, and pools
run as businesses.
Today, the Governor’s page
on phased reopening (https://
forward.ny.gov/) was edited to
explicitly state that “Gyms, fitness
centers, and exercise classes,
except for remote or streaming
services” remain closed at this
time and will NOT be permitted
to open during Phase Two.
We do not yet have clear guidance
as to in which phase such
fitness amenities will be allowed
to re-open, including those within
multifamily buildings.
Please also note that once the
restriction is lifted, pools still
need to take into account the
guidance from the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC). The CDC guidance
states that “Proper operation,
maintenance, and disinfection
(e.g., with chlorine and bromine)
of pools and hot tubs
should remove or inactivate the
virus that causes COVID-19.”
The CDC has also put together
recommendations for the
safe opening and operation
of public pools. You should
review these and determine
how to incorporate as many
of these as possible to ensure
the safe operation of your pool
once the statewide restriction
has been lifted.
Finally, some have inquired
as to whether there are restrictions
on activities that typically
take place around the pool area,
like sunbathing. The answer is
that there is no specific guidance
on these activities other
than that normal social distancing
requirements apply
— gatherings should be 10
persons or fewer, participants
should remain a minimum of 6
feet apart at all times, masks or
face coverings should be worn
when individuals are in public
and social distancing cannot be
maintained, and proper cleaning
and disinfection protocols
should be observed.
