The story of

“In the highly-entertaining and informative
docudrama Vice, Dick Cheney
(Christian Bale) becomes the most powerful
vice president in the history of the US presidency…
Bale’s impersonation of Cheney
is stunning in both physical transformation
and personality heft, an imitation that carries
the personal stamp of an outsize personality.”

In the early 18th century,
England is at war with the French.

Colman, Best Actress Oscar winner)

Weisz) governs the country in

Abigail (Emma Stone) arrives, her
charm endears her to Sarah. Sarah
takes Abigail under her wing and
Abigail sees a chance at a return
to her aristocratic roots. As the politics of war become quite
time consuming for Sarah, Abigail steps into the breach to fill
in as the Queen’s companion. Their burgeoning friendship
gives her a chance to fulfill her ambitions and she will not let
anyone stand in her way. — Fox Searchlight Pictures Rated R

Cast: Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz
“‘The Favourite’ is a wildly entertaining, bracingly cynical
comedy of royal manners…The busy, buzzing plot of
‘The Favourite’ is propelled by scheming, double-crossing
and manipulation among its three main female characters…
Weisz and Stone are both brilliantly witty and nimble, but
Colman’s performance is nothing short of sublime.”

“…an enchanting movie musical that picks up the
threads of the studio’s cherished original more than half
a century after its 1964 release…Ideally cast from top to
toe, and graced by tuneful songs from Marc Shaiman and
Scott Wittman…this is a charmer only cynics could resist.
Alongside Blunt and Miranda, who carry the movie with
effortless charisma, Whishaw merits special mention for
a tremendously moving performance as a broken man
slowly learning to live again.” ~ David Rooney, The
