N E W S APRIL 6 L E H A V R E Le Cats Update Dear LeHavrians and Friends, Spring is well on the way to LeHavre on the Water. Just because it was snowing beautiful, large fl akes recently does not mean that by the time you read this, spring will be all around us. Buds are on the trees and bushes. Birds are chirping. Warm weather is coming!!! Just a reminder to those of us that have wonderful animals in our homes to be sure you have secure screens on your windows before you open them. And please, when you open your terrace doors, check that no cute, furry critter is following you out. No matter how careful I am, it seems one tries to get out every so often. Unfortunately, every year Pam and I hear about cats that have fallen off their terraces. Most do not survive. Let's all try to make spring 2013 the first year of NO DEATHS AT LE HAVRE ON THE WATER! Our colony is seen patrolling our grounds. Keep up the fastidious work guys. Most of us LeHavrians 6 LEHAVRE COURIER | APRIL 2013 | WWW.QUEENSCOURIER.COM appreciate your diligent work in protecting us. Le Cats on the Water was instrumental in helping to rescue a sweet, declawed five-year-old male Siamese. He had dental work performed and is now completely healthy. He has been adopted and is very happy in his new forever home. We are now trying to rescue his son and then put him up for adoption. T-N-R (trap-neuter-return) has helped 24 cats so far this year. Besides helping homeowners with their Co-President Gloria Green of “Le Cats on the Water” outside cats, we have also helped Due Ponte Restaurant, located on Powells Cove Boulevard, with its outside felines. We still have approximately 15 cats on our waiting list for T-N-R. If anyone would like to fi nd out more about how they can be of help to the outside cats, please call Pam at 917-816-7572 or 718-767-0330 or myself at 917 578-7632. We have many volunteer opportunities. Try it, you might like it. Have a purrrfect month, Gloria Green Co-President WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
