One of Le Havre’s very own residents, Anna Maola, will be taking over the space and opening a new eatery. Anna wanted to introduce herself and her new endeavor to the Le Havre community. Please read her letter below and join us in welcoming Anna and the Sunflower Bistro to Le Havre! I would like to introduce myself to all of my Le Havre neighbors. My name is Anna Maola and, like you, I am a Le Havre resident. I moved into Le Havre in October from Long Island and I am so happy to be here! I am very excited to announce that I will be taking over and revamping the café in the Le Havre Clubhouse which will be called Sunflower Bistro. Although I am new to the Le Havre community, I am not new to the food service industry. I have been in the restaurant business since I was 6 years old, when my parents moved from Italy with their 3 small children and opened their first restaurant in 1971. That restaurant is still open today, being run by my family. In the past years I have owned, operated, and worked at several successful restaurants. I will I bring all of these years of experience to the Sunflower Bistro because food is my passion. I hope to share this passion with all of you through all of my new ideas for the Sunflower Bistro–but don't worry, your favorites will still be there! I look forward to meeting all of you, so please let me know if there is something I can do to make this transition easy for everyone. I'll see you at Sunflower Bistro soon! Anna Maola The Dining Diva: The Dining Diva – Ristorante Allora: Italian Kitchen & Bar BY HELENE OELERICH This brand new Italian restaurant (it just opened in December) is located on the upper level of the Bay Terrace Shopping Center where Tony Roma’s used to be. The space has been redone in a décor of good taste...modern, spacious and clean, and the service is extremely warm and friendly. In a word, the food is awesome! Every dish has its own distinct fl avor and look, and there are lots of entrees of chicken, pork, veal and steak, as well as seafood, pasta, salads and pizza. All pastas are made in-house and are very fresh and tasty! We especially enjoyed the garlic bread and calamari appetizers, as well as entrees of chicken parmesan, seared diver scallops and rigatoni a la vodka. The restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Sunday from 11:30 until 4pm and for dinner Sunday through Wednesday from 4pm till 10pm; Thursday from 4pm till 11pm; and Friday and Saturday from 4pm until 12 midnight. It’s closed for dinner on Mondays. Allora is located at 210-35 26th Avenue. Reservations are accepted; call 718-225-5672. For more info, visit allorakitchen.com.
