6 L E H A V R E N E W S JANUARY/FEBRUARY LeHavre’s RISING STAR Logan O’Connor, owner of Logan’s Café at LeHavre, will be feted as one of The Queens Courier’s “Rising Stars” this year. This year’s Rising Stars will feature Master of Ceremonies Greg Kelly, Co-Anchor of FOX 5’s “Good Day New York,” as well as Philanthropist and Mentor of the Year, Eugene Lang. Borough president Melinda Katz will also be in attendance and will be the recipient of the “Star of Stars” Award. This year’s proceeds will benefit the Flushing Town hall Educational Programs. The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 13 at Terrace on the Park. Along with recognizing notable Queens figures, the “Rising Stars” event also provides one of the top networking forums in the borough. O’Connor discovered his love of cooking as a child, practicing in his home kitchen and often preparing meals for his family. As a teenager he attended a Culinary Arts High School as well as taking a course at the Culinary Institute of America, both of which he learned a great deal from. Now, he dedicates his time to running his businesses and promoting different events that he plans and caters to create a constant flow of new customers and keep the, already regular customers coming back for more.
