 An off-duty NYPD officer died of his  
 injuries one month after a car crash  
 led to his car hitting multiple cars and  
 a pole in Springfield Gardens. 
 According to police, at 11:59 p.m.  
 on Jan. 17, officers responded to a 911  
 call regarding a crash at Lucas Street  
 and Nashville Boulevard. Upon their  
 arrival, officers found 34-year-old Michael  
 Ellis behind the wheel of a 2010  
 Nissan Altima, unconscious and unresponsive, 
  with severe trauma to his  
 head and body. 
 Officers also found a 28-year-old  
 man driving a 2006 Nissan Maxima  
 with  his  20-year-ld  male  passenger,  
 both with trauma to their legs. 
 An  investigation  found  that  
 the  28-year-old  driver  was  driving  
 southbound on Nashville Boulevard  
 and  as  he  approached Lucas  Street,  
 he  disobeyed  a  stop  sign  and  went  
 through  the  intersection.  As  a  result, 
   the  car  hit  Ellis’s  car,  which  
 continued  down  Lucas  Street  and  
 hit  a  parked  and  unoccupied  2017  
 Nissan Pathfinder as well as an additional  
 parked and unoccupied 2011  
 Chrysler  300.  Ellis’s  car  then  hit  
 a  telephone  pole  before  coming  to  
 rest. 
 EMS rushed Ellis to Jamaica Hospital  
 Medical Center, where he ultimately  
 died of his injuries on Feb. 27.  
 The 28-year-old and 20-year-old victims  
 were also taken to Jamaica Hospital  
 Medical Center by EMS, both in  
 stable condition. 
 No arrests have been made at this  
 time. The investigation is ongoing.

 Thief steals cash from elderly man in casino

 The  NYPD  is  looking  
 for a man who stole over  
 $2,000  in  cash  out  of  the  
 hands of an old man inside  
 Resorts World Casino  
 this month. 
 According  to  the  police, 
  on Sunday, Feb. 2,  
 around 7 a.m., an unidentified  
 man grabbed about  
 $2,600  from  a  91-yearold  
 man inside Resorts  
 World Casino, located at  
 110-00 Rockaway Blvd. in  
 Jamaica. 
 Police recovered video  
 of a man wanted for questioning  
 in  connection  
 with the grand larceny. 
 The investigation is  
 ongoing.

 The NYPD is looking for a man  
 wanted  in  connection  to  a  grand  larceny  
 in  South  Richmond  Hill  last  
 month. 
 According to police, on Saturday,  
 Feb. 29, around 10 a.m., a 37-year-old  
 NYPD traffic agent was issuing a  
 summons to a car at the corner of Liberty  
 Avenue and 121st Street, when an  
 unidentified man grabbed the agent’s  
 ticket machine out of their hand.  
 Making off with the machine worth  
 around $2,500, the man fled eastbound  
 on Liberty Avenue in a white Kia sedan, 
  cops say.

 Creep flashes genitals to woman in Sunnyside

 Police are searching for the creep  
 who flashed a woman in Sunnyside  
 earlier in February. 
 Authorities say a 34-year-old  
 woman was sitting alone in her car  
 near 43rd Avenue and 45th Street  
 at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 when the man  
 approached the vehicle. The suspect  
 then exposed his genitals in front of  
 the  victim  at  the  driver’s  side  door  
 before fleeing on foot southbound on  
 46th Street, police said. 
 Cops released photos of the suspect  
 on Feb. 26.
