Police blotter 
 Homeless man cuffed for pushing  
 a man to his death at Penn Station

 Cops arrested a homeless man who  
 they say fatally kicked a man down  
 a  fl ight  of  stairs  at  Penn  Station  
 earlier this month. 
 Following  an  ongoing  investigation,  
 police arrested 39-year-old Kariym Jackson  
 on Aug. 30. He was charged with two  
 counts of murder 2, one count of criminal  
 possession of a weapon and one count of  
 menacing. 
 According to police, at 11:11 p.m. on  
 Aug. 4, offi cers responded to a call regarding  
 an unconscious man at Penn Station,  
 near the entrance at 34th Street and 7th  
 Avenue. Upon their arrival, offi cers and  
 EMS  found an unidentifi ed man  at  the  
 bottom of the stairway. 
 Sources familiar with the investigation  
 stated that the victim was allegedly chased  
 by Jackson with a knife, who kicked the  
 victim once he reached the staircase and  
 caused him to fall and suffer head trauma  
 as a result.

 The victim was rushed to NYU Langone  
 Hospital, where he ultimately died of his  
 injuries. The victim’s death was later ruled  
 a homicide. 
 Man dies of injuries after  
 falling out of moving taxi in  
 Midtown: NYPD

 The NYPD is investigating  
 the death of  
 a  man  who  apparently  
 fell out of a moving  
 taxi while trying to climb  
 through  the  window  in  
 Manhattan  early  Tuesday  
 morning. 
 According to police, at  
 4:02 a.m. on Sept. 1,  the  
 NYPD responded to a call  
 regarding  a  pedestrian  
 struck at the intersection of  
 7th Avenue and 44th Street.  
 Upon their arrival, offi cers  
 found that 47-year-old Edgar  
 Castillo at the location. 
 An  investigation  found  
 that  Castillo  had  tried  to  
 enter a yellow taxi through  
 the  driver’s  side  window  
 near  the  intersection  of  
 44th Street and 7th Avenue.  
 The taxi drove off with Castillo  
 partially inside the cab,  
 with Castillo falling out and  
 hitting the pavement at the  
 intersection. The taxi then  
 drove  off  southbound  on  
 7th Avenue. 
 Castillo  was  taken  to  
 Mount Sinai West, where  
 he was pronounced dead. 
 No  arrests  have  been  
 made  at  this  time.  The  
 investigation is ongoing.
