Doors will be open all day. Please come by and take a look around. There
will be a display of images and artifacts spanning the Sanctuary's 200 years.
Panel Discussion: 11am - 12 Noon
Witness to 200 Years of Village History
Special Guest: Anna Marcum from Village Preservation will join us.
Concert: 3pm - Bach's Goldberg Variations
A monumental work by J.S. Bach consisting of 30 contrasting movements on
a single theme. Presented by St. John's Director of Music -
Dr. Janet Sora Chung.
Panel Discussion: 4pm - 5pm
The Evolution of A Sacred Space-Architecture Theology
While Traditions certainly do stand strong and enduring, the changes to St.
John's sanctuary over the past 200 years tell a story of ever growing
theological understandings, renewing liturgical practices
and evolving social conscience.
Inspirational Gospel Showcase: 9pm
Any celebration of this space has to include one of St. John's most recent
unique expressions. Join us for our monthly night of praise engaging the joy
and traditions of the ballroom community.
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 19TH
Worship: 11am
Festive Liturgy: Bishop Paul Egensteiner
We celebrate this milestone engaging in the primary activity for which the
building was built-the worship of the God of love, mercy and grace.
Lunch: 12:30pm
A celebratory lunch will be served between worship and
the afternoon program. RSVP to Office@stjohnsnyc.org

Celebration of Sacred Spaces: 2pm
Through the years many have found a home in this sacred space. This
interfaith expression will use music, reflections, poetry, and theatre to
celebrate what has been, what is, and what will continue to be, as the living
spirit that welcomes all is celebrated.
(At this time, we are requiring masks for all indoor activities.
Also, seating will be limited to allow for social distancing)
