Cops are looking for a bigot
who harassed an Asian woman
and tried to assault her in
Midtown.
According to police, at 1 p.m.
on April 13 offi cers responded to
a 911 call regarding harassment at
the corner of 1st Avenue and East
57th Street. Upon their arrival, a
25-year-old woman informed police
that she was walking southbound
on 1st Avenue when an unknown
individual approached her.
The suspect proceeded to make
anti-Asian statements and attempted
to hit her with a closed fi st. With a
dog in tow, the suspect fl ed the scene
on foot northbound on 1st Avenue.
There were no injuries as a result,

The NYPD released photos and
a video of the suspect taken from
nearby surveillance footage:
The suspect is described as a
man with a dark complexion and
long braided hair. He was last seen
wearing a three-quarter length black
jacket, dark-colored pants, black
sneakers and walking a dog.

Perp slashes man in Harlem: NYPD

An enraged attacker who sliced a man’s face with a
razor blade during an argument near a deli in Harlem
last week remains on the lam, police reported.
Cops said the attack happened at about 3:05 a.m. on
April 9 in front of the grocery store at 121 West 116th St.
According to authorities, the perpetrator got into an
argument with the victim, a 26-year-old man, for reasons
that were not disclosed.
Law enforcement sources said the verbal argument then
led to a physical exchange, during which the attacker pulled
out a razor blade and sliced the victim across the face,
causing a deep laceration.
Following the bloody attack, the slasher took off on foot
in an unknown direction.

Police engaged in an
armed standoff with a
disturbed man inside
his apartment at a Kips
Bay high-rise on Monday
afternoon.
Dozens of NYPD cars from
the 13thPrecinct arrived at the
scene on 344 East 28th St. at
about 3:30 p.m. on April 12,
where a man, identifi ed as Luis
Gonzalez, who was armed with
a fi rearm, locked himself in his
apartment.
According to police sources,
hostage negotiators were on
the scene trying to create a
dialogue with the man and ease
tensions.
Just outside of the complex,
the individual’s brother,
Demetri Gonzalez, who also
resides within the same apartment,
found out about the
incident through the Citizen
app as he voyaged home from
work.
“I tried calling him on his
phone but nothing. He’s not
answering. I can’t even get
upstairs. They have the whole
14th floor shutdown right
now,” Demetri Gonzalez said,
distraught. He shared that
his father recently died after
a three-year battle with colon

cancer and since then the family
has been stressed.
“I’m just worried about
him,” Demetri Gonzalez said,
learning that offi cers may break
down the door to his apartment
to get to his brother. “We’ve
been telling him to get therapy,”
he added.
Also residing in the apartment
was told to remain in an exit
stairwell while offi cers handled
the situation. Police could
be observed entering with a
canine unit, adorning shields
and fi rearms.
Offi cers from the 28th Precinct and EMS units responded
to the incident. The victim was treated for his
injuries at Mount Sinai-St. Luke’s Hospital.
On April 13, the NYPD released an image of the attacker
inside the store on the morning of the attack. He’s
described as a man with a dark complexion believed to be
30 years of age, standing 6 feet tall and weighing about
160 pounds.
Police said he was last seen wearing a white, striped
dress shirt, blue jeans and black boots while carrying a
black backpack.

might leap from his apartment
window. Soon thereafter glass
objects were fl ung from the
window, narrowly missing offi
cers below.
Members of the NYPD then
rushed inside. According to
Demetri Gonzalez, NYPD had
him him help coax his brother
out of the apartment.
Luis was then transported
to Bellevue Hospital for
evaluation.
