NOVEMBER 9
Photo of the Month
WWW.QNS.COM | NOVEMBER 2021 | CRYDER POINT COURIER 9
BY JILL DAVIS
A reminder about the contest rules:
The photographer must be a resident of Cryder
Point, and all photos must of the property
or of a view from the property. They also must
be current, that is, taken no more than a couple
of months before you submit them.
Any description of where you were on the
property, the day of week or time of day…any
details that you can provide which bring your
neighbors into the moment of the photo…are
eagerly welcomed.
Submit your pictures to jdavis@qns.com
and yours might be selected to be featured in
the paper. Please be sure to put “Cryder Point
Photo” in the subject line of your email and include
the full name of the photographer and an
approximate date of the picture.
November’s Photo of the Month is by Rob
Cohen, not only because it’s a great picture but
also because he wins the all-time prize for most
unique title. Rob says, “I call this ‘Texting on
The Osprey’ because there’s a guy who appears
to be texting on the back of the Tugboat. Also,
it sounds very sophisticated.” Well lah-di-dah!
By pure chance, all the other photos submitted
this month were taken in the early morning.
The fact that we see such a wide range of light
and dark reminds us how late sun-up is during
these shorter days.
But I digress. A special shout out goes to Esther
Lugo. I can’t swear to it, but I think this
might be Esther’s first submission to the paper,
which would be pretty ironic—and bittersweet,
as she and her husband Rick Buser will be relocating
to Florida soon. I told Esther I hope she’ll
have the chance to send in a couple more pictures
before they head off. Best wishes to them
both on their new adventure!
Thanks also go to Marsha Gellert and Joe Hollander,
who never disappoint with their with
their gorgeous bridge views.
So now with winter fast approaching and sunset
soon closing in around 4:30 pm, it will be a
good time to get some nighttime scenes (hint,
hint!). Looking forward to seeing what our contributors
come up with! “Texting on the Osprey” Photo by Rob Cohen
