4 C R Y D E R P O I N T NOVEMBER Message from the Board President As announced in last month’s Courier, the seawall completion is now slated for January due to the inclusion of work on the dock. You’ll find some new photos of the seawall progress in this edition, including a couple of the current state of the dock. Aside from improving its looks, which you will see is pretty sad right now, a more important reason for repair is the opportunity to enhance security. The dock has historically attracted outsiders, and so the refurbishment will include significantly improved fencing to minimize intruders. Although the seawall project is delayed, I’m pleased to report that completion of the 01 balconies remains on schedule for the end of 2015. This will be a milestone for Cryder Point and the end of a nearly five-year project and something to celebrate in the New Year. In the meantime, if you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year and need new ideas, please take a look at the recipes Cryder Point residents have contributed. Not in the mood to cook? We have a list of local restaurants and caterers for you to consider. Lastly, I’m excited to announce that I will be taking the helm as editor for the Cryder Point Courier. Stephen Vrattos, who’s been our editor over this past year, is moving to a new role at the Queens Courier. Please read my conversation with Stephen about my new position and hope to answer the question, “What have I gotten myself into?” Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
