COVID-19 REMINDERS
SEPTEMBER 2020
As other states across the country are experiencing spikes in COVID cases, it remains
critically important that we remain vigilant. Please remember:
AT CRYDER POINT, FACE COVERINGS ARE NOT OPTIONAL
Residents, guests, visitors and delivery people must wear a face covering when in
common areas
This applies to all common areas of all buildings
Use a scarf or bandana if a mask is not available
WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN
Use regular soap and water for 20 seconds (that’s two verses of “Happy Birthday”).
Use sanitizer as a second choice if soap isn’t available.
STAY AT HOME
Things are improving, but it’s still a good idea to stay home as much as possible.
Limit your outside activities to the necessities such as going to the grocery store.
Message from the
Board President
2020 Election: As has been announced,
our 2020 Annual Election
resulted in a quorum of 58%, a
good turnout, and the Board is
pleased to welcome Lew Finkelman
as its newest member.
In further Board news, Jason
Kober has resigned from the
Board. Jason served on the Board
since 2014 and as Treasurer since
2016. Jason’s contributions to the
Board and the community covered
a wide range of areas, most notably
in our budget planning and buyer
application review processes. We thank him for his hard
work and dedication over the years and he will be missed.
Fortunately, John Naegele has accepted the role of Treasurer.
John, who has been on the Board for ten years, has previously
served as Treasurer and Co-Treasurer. His experience
with Cryder Point’s budgets and finances will put us in good
hands going forward.
Finally, we are pleased to announce that Tom Wise has accepted
our invitation to re-join the Board to fill Jason’s seat.
Tom brings a lot to the table, particularly his expertise in
building infrastructure gained from his years of experience as
a custodian engineer. He will complete the balance of Jason’s
term, which is until the next Annual Meeting slated for June,
2021, at which time Tom will run for election if he so chooses.
Elevator Modernizations: Work on the front elevators
(Apartments A through L) began on time and we will be
monitoring the progress closely. Please be sure to read your
updated Project Guide thoroughly, which was issued to Front
apartment residents early this month. The guide provides a
list of important phone numbers, information on assistance
with packages, tips on doing your laundry, as well as other
guidance to help everyone get through the elevator down
time. Please contact Management if you have any questions.
BuildingLink: BuildingLink has officially launched, although
not all features are up and running yet (please be
patient). If you have not yet signed up, call or email Bridget
Matus in the Management Office (call 718-767-5003, Ext. 3 or
email her at bmatus@cryderpoint.com).
2020 Pool Season: Admittedly this was a very odd pool season—
and one we hope to never have to repeat. Nevertheless,
the Board and Management want to acknowledge Elite, our
pool management company, for another fine season even
under less-than-ideal circumstances. Our thanks go out to
Director Nick Santo, along with Pool Manager Shaun Mc-
Nally and Assistant Managers Alexa Capo and Kelly Coronado.
We look forward to seeing them again in 2021.
Reminder that the 01 and 21 Community Rooms remain
closed until further notice. Management will inform everyone
when they will be reopened.
Till next time, Jill Davis

“We’re All About You”
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
No congregating!
Always practice social distancing, i.e., stay 6 feet away from the next person, even if
you are wearing a mask
IF YOU DON’T FEEL WELL
Seek medical care if you are not feeling well for 3 to 4 days.
Unfortunately, not everyone is tested for the virus.
The symptoms vary widely, so it’s difficult to tell if you actually have the coronavirus if
you have not been tested.
However, you will likely be advised by your medical professional to self-quarantine. It
is imperative that you do so until you are medically cleared.
Notify Management so that you can be assisted, e.g., having your trash picked up outside
your door.
WE’RE IN THIS TOGETHER!
The 2020 US Census:
Time is Running Out!
Completing the US Census is important! It
determines how billions of dollars of federal
money is distributed to each state—think of
fire departments, health clinics and schools,
not to mention roads and highways. The Census
also determines how many Congressional
seats each state is entitled to.
September 30, 2020, is the last day to
self-respond. You can do so online, by phone
or by mail. It’s confidential, very easy and
takes only a few minutes to do.
Visit 2020census.gov for more information.
