COVID-19 REMINDERS: JULY 2020
As other states across the country are experiencing spikes in COVID
cases, it remains critically important that we remain vigilant. Please
remember:
At Cryder Point, face coverings are NOT optional
This applies to all common areas of all buildings
Use a scarf or bandana if a mask is not available
Guests, visitors and delivery people must wear a face covering
Wash your hands often
Use regular soap and water for 20 seconds (that’s two verses of
Message from
the Board President
Well, I can’t say we’ve fast-forwarded to Phase 3
in New York City, but we’re getting there, slowly
but surely.
As everyone knows, the biggest news was
the notification that we would be able to open
our pool. Word came in from the Dept. of
Health on July 1, which notified properties
that they had permission to open that day. We
and our pool company, Elite, had assumed that
NYC would give us some lead time (what on
earth were we thinking?). So, while the pool itself
was pretty much prepped and ready to go, the required
guidelines had to be reviewed and streamlined for the new pool
package and then time had to be allowed for residents to sign up. But
with Elite’s help it got done, and we thank everyone for their patience.
Thanks also in advance for understanding the stringent rules this
year—ones that I hope we’ll never have to repeat. While it is always
everyone’s responsibility to read the rules thoroughly and carefully, it’s
even more important to do so this year and take the motto “Safety First”
seriously. One bright spot is that Shaun McNally and Alexa Capo are
back as our Pool Manager and Assistant Manager, so it will feel like old
home week for our returning members.
Speaking of safety first, maintaining the safety of our residents is our
top priority at this challenging time. Although things are beginning to
open up, we need to continue to exercise due diligence.
With that in mind, the Board and Management are being conservative
about outside traffic on the property. For those who may not be
aware, open houses are not permitted until further notice; apartments
may be shown by appointment only. In addition, all alteration requests
continue to be approved on a case-by-case basis. If you are considering
having work done in your apartment, please contact Management to
discuss the scope of work as early as possible in the process. Be assured
we do not want to arbitrarily slow people’s plans, and your application
will be given serious consideration. We’re hoping to be able to ease up
on these rules in the near future, but for now we are taking a “better safe
than sorry” approach. Thanks for your cooperation.
As a reminder, the mandated elevator upgrade is on schedule to begin
immediately after Labor Day on Tuesday, September 8. The front elevator
of each building will be undertaken first. The plan with details was
distributed in April; if you have lost or misplaced yours, please contact
Management.
Stay well, everyone.
Till next time, Jill Davis

Use sanitizer as a second choice if soap isn’t available.
Stay at home
Things are improving, but it’s still a good idea to stay home as
much as possible.
Limit your outside activities to the necessities such as going to
the grocery store.
Keep your distance
No congregating!
Always practice social distancing, i.e., stay 6 feet away from the
next person, even if you are wearing a mask
If you don’t feel well
Seek medical care if you are not feeling well for 3 to 4 days.
Unfortunately, not everyone is tested for the virus.
The symptoms vary widely, so it’s difficult to tell if you actually
have the coronavirus if you have not been tested.
However, you will likely be advised by your medical professional
to self-quarantine. It is imperative that you do so until you are
medically cleared.
Notify Management so that you can be assisted, e.g., having your
trash picked up outside your door.
