COVID-19 REMINDERS: JUNE 2020
At Cryder Point, face coverings
are NOT optional
This applies to all common areas of all buildings
Use a scarf or bandana if a mask is not available
Wash your hands often
Use regular soap and water for 20 seconds (that’s two
verses of “Happy Birthday”).
Use sanitizer as a second choice if soap isn’t available.
Stay at home
Things are improving, but it’s still a good idea to stay home
Message from
the Board President
New York City enters Phase 1 of reopening on June
8. This is a limited opening (sorry, no haircuts
yet!). The construction industry is part of this
first phase, which includes specific mandatory
guidelines for employers to have their employees
abide by necessary social distancing and
protection while on the job.
The guidelines do not discuss whether the
work is being done in a private home or in an
apartment building, which creates very different
scenarios. For our residents, we are most concerned
about maintaining everyone’s safety to the
best of our ability. At this time we are striving to limit
outside traffic (i.e., a lot of workers here at one time).
We are therefore moving forward slowly with all
alteration requests and will be approving them on a case-by-case basis.
If you are considering having work done in your apartment, please contact
Management to discuss the scope of work as early as possible in the
process. Be assured we do not want to arbitrarily slow people’s plans,
and your application will be given serious consideration. Assuming that
things continue to move in the right direction with regard to the virus, we
anticipate being able to ease limitations in the near future.
Everybody wants to know what’s what with the pool. So do we, but
unfortunately the status still remains unclear. As explained in a recent
memo, our pool management company (Elite) reported the following
to us on May 27 and at press time, nothing has changed:
“As of now, we do not have an open date to share with you, but we here
at ELITE are working hard to ensure when we do reopen that it is done
in the safest matter possible for both the Residents/Members and staff.
We are keeping a close eye on all reports and press conferences from local
and federal government bodies and reviewing the NYS 4 phases reopening
plan.” – Nick Santo, Director of Communication & Compliance, Elite
Amenity Management
We’re in regular communication with Elite and are hoping that as
NYC inches toward reopening more, we’ll have a clearer picture soon
and will keep everyone informed. In the meantime, the pool deck is
open, but residents must still bring their own chair.
As a reminder, if you do go down to the pool, please remember that face
covering and social distancing rules apply there as well. Do not forget to
wear your mask when you’re leaving and returning to your building—this
includes children age 2 and over. And very important, if you remove your
mask outside, everyone must maintain social distancing (6 feet apart).
These rules are not about ourselves; we have a mutual, social responsibility
to prevent the continued spread of the virus as best we can. The
vast majority of residents are following the protocols, and I’d like to
thank everyone again for following them so closely.
Remember the annual meeting and Board election? At this time the
Board has voted to hold the meeting poolside sometime in August. We
believe this venue will allow us to follow social distancing rules and hopefully
put residents more at ease to convene. We will issue a date shortly.
Stay well, everyone.
Till next time, Jill Davis

as much as possible.
Limit your outside activities to the necessities such as
going to the grocery store.
Keep your distance
No congregating!
Always practice social distancing, i.e., stay 6 feet away
from the next person, even if you are wearing a mask
If you don’t feel well
Seek medical care if you are not feeling well for 3 to 4
days.
Unfortunately, not everyone is tested for the virus.
The symptoms vary widely, so it’s difficult to tell if you
actually have the coronavirus if you have not been tested.
However, you will likely be advised by your medical professional
to self-quarantine. It is imperative that you do so
until you are medically cleared.
Notify Management so that you can be assisted, e.g., having
your trash picked up outside your door.
