NANCY WILSON OF HEART
Virtual Event
Tuesday, May 11, 8pm
Newsday is presenting this a one-woman live show
of conversation and music with Nancy Wilson, former
guitarist of Heart, the first all-female rock band. They
were a pretty big deal back in the day with such songs
as “Barracuda” and “Crazy on You” and were inducted
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. Moderated
by Newsday entertainment writer Rafer Guzman,
Nancy will talk about her first solo album, “You and
Me.” The event is free; register at newsdaylive.com.

bethpageairshow.com
An event that thousands of people look forward
to every year, the US Air Force Thunderbirds
will be back at Jones Beach over
Memorial Day weekend. Please note there
are a bunch of restrictions, including a limit
of 50% capacity. The event is free and parking
costs $10. The venue also says it is crucial to
provide a valid email address at the time of
purchase to receive confirmation and the necessary
code needed for entry. It is also advised to get there early; it’s not unusual for
the parking lots to be filled by 8am or even earlier. Also, for those who can’t make it
in person, the Saturday show is also going to be livestreamed. Visit the show’s website
for this and other information.
New York is speeding up its reopening
plans along with neighboring New Jersey
and Connecticut. Notably for those of us
in NYC, indoor dining, hair salons and
other personal care service businesses
expanded to 75% capacity on May 7 and
gyms and fitness centers will expand to
50% on May 15.
More expansion will occur on May 19,
when restaurants, museums, theaters and
retail outlets will be allowed to reopen at
full capacity. However,in practical terms,
this may be hampered by ongoing social
distancing rules.
The outdoor food and beverage curfew
will be lifted on May 17, as will 24-hour
MTA service. Broadway will also be allowed
to reopen fully, but theaters are not
expected to be back in business before
September. source: New York Magazine
Please note that the above changes may
impact some of the information about the
following upcoming events, so please check
the websites for updates.
