The Oelerichs might be stuck
at home, but they still have to
eat! Until she can go out to dinner
again, Helene will be sharing
her profiles of local restaurants
that offer takeout and/or delivery.

Photo of the Month
BY JILL DAVIS
May’s Photo of the Month kudos go to Joe Hollander for
his beautiful early morning photo. Thanks Joe!
Thanks also to CeCe Schob, who submitted this picture
of a random boat that mysteriously appeared on our beach
not long ago. (Note that the boat just as mysteriously disappeared
recently. Go figure.)
In another unique photo, Marsha Gellert epitomizes
how a picture is worth a thousand words. She took this
picture one afternoon when her family came to visit her
and her husband, Paul, and it makes us all miss hugs even
more.
Remember, if you venture out for a walk alone (or six
feet apart) and happen to see something that catches your
eye, please take a photo. The weather is improving and
a few pictures to remind us of nature’s beauty are always
good for the spirit.
A reminder about the contest rules:
The photographer must be a resident of Cryder Point,
and all photos must of the property or of a view from the
property. They also must be current, that is, taken no more
than a couple of months before you submit them.
Any description of where you were on the property, the
day of week or time of day…any details that you can provide
which bring your neighbors into the moment of the
photo…are eagerly welcomed.
Submit your pictures to jdavis@qns.com and yours
might be selected to be featured in the paper. Please be
sure to put “Cryder Point Photo” in the subject line of your
email and include the full name of the photographer and
an approximate date of the picture.

For a tasty take on Asian Fusion, try
Casa Asia. This bistro offers a blend of
Thai, Chinese and Malaysian, plus a delicious
sushi bar. “It’s very good!” Helene
reports. Casa Asia is located at 149-45 14
Avenue. Right now they’re doing pickup
only. Call 718-767-6868 or go to casabistrony.

When the urge for traditional Chinese
food hits, Helene recommends King’s
Chef, located in the Whitestone Shopping
Center. They offer pickup and free delivery;
call 718-767-8100. You can see the
menu on seamless.com.
Who doesn’t like a yummy pastrami
