C R Y D E R P O I N T JANUARY 7 Irene and Justin are probably our ‘newest newbies,’ having moved in at the beginning of December, but Justin’s known about Cyrder for a long time. “Justin lived in Le Havre when he was younger,” Irene said. “He knew people who lived in Cryder Point.”   Our dog policy was an important consideration for the couple. “The best thing about living here is that it is a dog friendly community,” Irene explained. “Max, my Pomeranian, made a lot of new friends when we moved into the neighborhood.” When they’re not busy playing with Max, they’re busy with their respective medical careers; Irene is a cardiac telemetry nurse at North Shore University Hospital and Justin is a cardiac Physician Assistant at Montefiore Medical Center.  “We love the community and how friendly everyone is here,” Irene said. And, like many, “We would love to see a gym in one of the buildings.” WWW.QNS.COM | JANUARY 2017 | CRYDER POINT COURIER 7 Irene Guico and Justin Kimmelblatt Helen Tsiakaros (Camera Shy) Helen moved to Cryder Point in September with the help of some reconnaissance from her niece and nephew, who were here visiting a friend and saw an apartment they thought she might like. It was a pretty easy decision for Helen. “They saw the apartment, took me to see it, and that was it,” she said. Helen’s moved quite a bit over the years. She’s originally from Manhattan and has also called Astoria and Riverdale home, with a second stint in Manhattan along the way. She worked in St. John’s Riverside Hospital for close to 20 years and is now a bookkeeper at the Odyssey Café. When she’s not working, Helen spends time with her close-knit clan. “I have a very large family and I’m kept quite busy,” she said. Since moving in, Helen’s had a great experience. “I feel very safe, secure and happy…wonderful neighbors, and the staff is extremely kind and polite. So far I’m very satisfied with everything. There’s nothing bad about living here!” Jerry and Cynthia Kuzniewski Last summer sure was busy! Jerry and Cynthia also moved in over the summer with their two daughters, Michelle and Chrissy, and they have settled right in. “First of all, we would like to say that we only moved to Cryder Point in August of this year, and we already feel as though we’ve been here for much longer than that!” Jerry said. He explained, “We were looking to downsize and we also needed to find a home that would allow dogs.” Cryder Point gets extra bonus points for its proximity to the river. “We had always thought of living on the water,” Jerry said, “and Cryder Point provided the fulfilhnent to that dream. When we show friends pictures of the river, our ‘backyard,’ they can’t get over how beautiful it is, and how fortunate we are to be living where we do.” Jerry also said how much the family is looking forward to the 2017 pool season. “We’ve heard nothing but good things about that highlight of living here. We anticipate making many more new friends once the weather breaks and it is pool season once again.” Jerry wanted to add: “Everyone has just been so welcoming and friendly. Thank you S0 much for the kind reception we have received so far.”
