Gunman shoots bystander at
Lower East Side housing complex

Disturbing video that the
NYPD released on Saturday
shows a gunman
taking aim and fi ring a shot on
an individual, which wound up
striking an innocent bystander,
on the Lower East Side Friday
evening.
Cops said the shooting happened
at about 6:17 p.m. on
June 18 at the Governor Alfred
E. Smith Houses in front of 388
Pearl St., just down the block
from One Police Plaza, the
NYPD’s headquarters.
According to law enforcement
sources, the gunman confronted
the unknown individual
under scaffolding at the location
and exchanged words with him.
The video shows the gunman
reaching into his waist for his
weapon, causing the individual
to backpedal. The gunman then
points the handgun and opens
fi re as the individual ran from
the scene.
Cops cuff man who assaulted, robbed
senior man at Lower East Side deli

A Manhattan man was
arrested after he allegedly
beat and robbed an
82-year-old man in a Lower East
Side bodega.
Raoul Hyacinthe, 42, was arrested
on June 17 in connection
to the crime. He was charged with
robbery.
According to police, at 6:20 a.m.
on June 16 an 82-year-old man
was buying a cup of coffee inside
Big Apple Food Market at 219
East Broadway when Hyacinthe
allegedly approached him and demanded
money. When the victim
refused, Hyacinthe allegedly raised
a fi st and threatened to punch the
victim and steal his cane if he did

But, police said, the shot went
astray and wound up striking a
46-year-old man who was sitting
on a nearby staircase. The victim
told police he heard the shot,
then felt pain in his left arm and
realized he had been struck.
The victim went by private
means to Bellevue Hospital,
where he was treated and released.
The shooting was then
reported to the 5th Precinct.

Cops in Midtown are looking
Street-Times Square subway station
on Friday evening, police sources
said.
The attack occurred at around
6:55 p.m. on June 18 in the walkway
and 7th Avenue, connecting the
1, 2, 3 trains to the A and C line
and N,Q,R, and S lines where a
35-year-old man was slashed in
the head.
EMS transported the victim to
Bellevue Hospital and is in stable
condition, police reported.
NYPD offi cers from the Midtown

were strewn across the walkway
following the brutal slashing.
At this time, it is unknown if this
stabbing was random or the result
of an altercation. No arrests have
been made and the investigation is

Two men gunned down in two
hours in Harlem and Inwood

Two men were slain
in Upper Manhattan
in separate shootings
early on Monday morning, police
reported.
Law enforcement sources
said Tamel Jackson-Breland, 31,
of Middletown, NY, was shot
multiple times in the back in
front of an apartment building
at 230 West 140th St. just before
2:35 a.m. on June 21.
Jackson-Breland was taken by
private means to Harlem Hospital,
where he was pronounced
dead a short time later. Hospital
staff notifi ed the 32nd Precinct
moments after Jackson-Breland
arrived at the medical center.
At this point in the ongoing
investigation, police have yet to
provide a possible motive for the
homicide, or a description of the
shooter.
About two hours later, a
34-year-old man was killed when
a gunman opened fi re on him in
Inwood, police reported.
Law enforcement sources said
the shooting happened at about
4:48 a.m. on June 21 in front of
shops along Dyckman Street off
Vermilyea Avenue.
Offi cers from the 34th Precinct,
in responding to a 911 call
regarding a shooting at the location,
found the 34-year-old man
unconscious and unresponsive
behind the wheel of a black 2018
BMW 750 sedan with a single
gunshot wound to his head.
