Burglar hits
Village home
There was a burglary in a residence
at West 13th Street and Greenwich
Avenue, on Monday, March 9, police
said.
Around 2:15 a.m., a man allegedly
forced his way into the residence
through a front door, then took several
handbags and various items of
jewelry with a total estimated value of
$12,000.
He then fl ed on foot in an unknown
direction, offi cials said.

Hungry crook
hits restaurant
Police released surveillance images
of a man wanted for an alleged burglary
at Jajaja Plantas Méxicana restaurant,
at 63 Carmine St.
On Feb. 13, around 4:55 a.m., offi -
cials said the man forcibly entered the
basement by breaking through drywall,
then allegedly broke open a safe and
took about $300, three iPads and several
W2 envelopes, before fl eeing.

Odious burglars
Police said they are looking for two
men in connection with a theft at Sephora,
557 Broadway.
On March 2, around 7 p.m., a man
told police that two unidentifi ed males
entered the store, placed 51 fragrance
items, valued around $5,407, into backpacks
and then fl ed without paying.

Senior woman
robbed in apt.
Police said they are looking for a man
who allegedly robbed an older woman
in an apartment building near West
25th Street and Eighth Avenue.
The incident occurred on Sunday,
March 1, around 7:15 p.m., offi cials
said, when the man allegedly grabbed
an 87-year-old woman by her shoulder
and ripped her purse out of her hand.
The man then fl ed uptown, police said,
through an alleyway that connects
West 25th Street to West 26th Street,
with the purse.
Police said the victim was not injured
during the incident.

Jeans thief at
Hudson Yards
A man was arrested for trying to steal
a pricey pair of jeans from a department
store at Hudson Yards, police said.
On Friday, March 6, around 5:10
p.m., a loss prevention offi cer at Neiman
Marcus, 20 Hudson Yards, told
police that a man allegedly took a pair
of Prps jeans, valued at $248, and left
the store without paying.
The man was apprehended outside,
where he struggled with the loss prevention
offi cer and store staff, who
tried to detain him, according to a police
report. An alleged crack pipe was
recovered at the scene, which a staff
member told police fell out of the man’s
pocket while he was being detained.
The would-be thief, 30 years old, was
arrested for petit larceny, police said.

A Brooklyn man faces assault
charges for violently stabbing
a 35-year-old man inside a
Manhattan bodega early on Sunday
morning.
Police said that Goni Guzman, 30,
of 52nd Street in Sunset Park turned
himself in to the 10th Precinct on
March 9, hours after he was identifi ed
as the prime suspect in the March 8
stabbing in Chelsea.
Law enforcement sources said the
attack happened at 12:30 a.m. on
March 8 inside the grocery store at
201 West 14th St.
police said.
On Monday, March 2, a man allegedly
took a female victim’s wallet from
her cubicle in 30 Cooper Square.

According to law enforcement
sources, the 35-year-old victim got
into a dispute with Guzman’s acquaintance.
As the argument turned
heated, sources familiar with the investigation
said, Guzman intervened
— and subsequently went on the attack.
Guzman alleged stabbed and
slashed the 35-year-old victim near
the store’s entrance.
The victim suffered multiple stab
wounds to his torso and slash wounds
to his arms.
Paramedics rushed the victim to
Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed
in critical but stable condition.

Police released surveillance images of a man
who is wanted for allegedly groping a woman
on the subway in Midtown.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at
around 7 a.m. Offi cials said that at this time, a 40-
year-old woman was aboard a Manhattan-bound
E train approaching the Lexington Avenue-53rd
Street station when the man allegedly grabbed the
victim’s buttocks and private area.
He then fl ed the train at the Lexington Avenue
station, according to offi cials, and the woman remained on the train.
The man is wanting for forcible touching in the NYPD’s 17th Precinct. Call
