Muggers preying
on Essex Street
Two men are sought by police for a
robbery pattern on Essex Street that involved
attacking victims, offi cials said.
Both incidents occurred inside Seward
Park Extension, at 64 Essex St.
On Feb. 12, around 1:45 p.m., two
men allegedly approached a 27-yearold
male victim from behind and put
him in a chokehold. Police said they
then punched him several times about
the face and body, and allegedly took
Vicious assault puts Uber driver in coma

Cops want to talk to fi ve
people connected to a
brawl on the Upper East
Side of Manhattan this month
that left an Uber driver in a
coma from a massive head injury.
The NYPD released on Friday
night photos of the fi ve individuals
and video footage of
the attack that occurred at 4:25
a.m. on Feb. 5 at the corner of
East 62nd Street and Second
Avenue.
According to law enforcement
sources, the fi ve people
rode inside a vehicle operated
by the victim, a 54-year-old man,
who then got into a verbal dispute
with them.
After stopping at the corner, police
said, the argument turned physical
outside the vehicle. One of the male
passengers then punched the driver in
the face, knocking him to the ground.
The individuals then fl ed on foot in
an unknown direction.
Offi cers from the 19th Precinct
about $60 before fl eeing.
The victim was treated at the scene
for bruising and pain.
Then on Feb. 17, around 12:45 p.m.,
the two men allegedly approached a
66-year-old male victim from behind,
grabbed his neck and took his wallet.
The robbers fl ed toward the Delancey
Street subway station with $150 and
credit cards, offi cials said.
The victim sustained bruising on
his head from hitting a wall during
the struggle, and was taken to New-
York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan

and EMS units responded to the incident.
Paramedics rushed the driver
to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell
Medical Center with severe head
trauma. Doctors there placed him in
a medically induced coma.
The NYPD said the victim is listed
in critical but stable condition.

Break-in at salon
on Elizabeth St.
Police said they are looking for a man
in connection with a burglary at Arte
Salon, at 294 Elizabeth St., on Sunday,
Feb. 23.
Around 2:10 p.m., the man allegedly
gained entry through an unsecured
front door, then took around $600
from a safe before fl eeing in an unknown
direction.

Cellphone stolen
from her jacket
A man is wanted by police for grand
larceny after an alleged theft inside 55
Bond St., offi cials said.
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, the man,
who police said is named Andre Skinner,
allegedly took a woman’s cellphone
from her jacket while inside the location.

Television taken
at Smith Houses
A man and a woman are wanted by
police for an alleged burglary at Smith
Houses, at 10 Catherine Slip, offi cials
said.
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, around 9 p.m.,
the two people allegedly gained access
to a maintenance room by forcing open
the entrance door, then took a 24-inch
television before fl eeing in an unknown
direction.

Crooks buys food
with stolen dough
Police said they are looking for a
woman in connection to a burglary inside
Cafeteria restaurant at 119 Seventh
Ave., on Friday, Jan. 31.
Around 4:20 a.m., a woman was allegedly
seen on surveillance camera entering
the manager’s offi ce, where she
took $400 from the desk, police said,
and returned to the restaurant and ordered
food.
The woman paid for the food, offi -
cials said, and left the restaurant.

Package theft in
apartment bldg.
A woman was arrested in connection
with a package theft inside a building
near W. 21 St. and Eighth Avenue, police
said.
On Friday, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m., a witness,
a male acquaintance of the victim,
told police he heard rummaging
through packages and when he looked
out of his window, he saw three people
who didn’t live there and who were
leaving the building.
The stolen property was a Rockland
Melbourne suitcase, valued at $57.

Window smashed
at pizza place
Police said they arrested a woman after
she allegedly caused property damage
inside Artichoke Basille’s Pizza at
114 10th Ave., on Sunday, March 1.
Around 12:20 a.m., a male employee
of the pizza shop told police that the
woman, who was previously known to
the store, tried to enter to use the bathroom.
After the employee denied her entry,
she allegedly kicked four windows,
causing damage that exceeded $250.
The woman was later arrested for

Suspect robbed woman in Midtown

Police released surveillance images of a man
wanted for allegedly robbing a woman in
Midtown last week.
The incident occurred on Feb. 28, around 10:50
p.m., offi cials said, when a man approached a 28-
year-old female victim as she was walking in front
of 420 West 49th St., between Ninth and 10th Avenues.
The man then allegedly pushed the woman
to the ground and took her tote bag.
Police released a photo and video of the man
wanted for the robbery in the Midtown North Precinct.
