Employee robbed
in East Village
An employee at an East Village restaurant
had her purse stolen on Saturday,
Dec. 7, police said.
Around 6 p.m., inside Ruby’s Café
at 198 E. 11 St., a 24-year-old employee
went to retrieve her purse and discovered
it missing. She then contacted
the police.
An investigation found that two unknown
men entered the location and
went into an employee-only area in the
basement. They allegedly took the victim’s
purse from an unsecured area,
then fl ed on foot.
The purse contained electronics and
cash with a total value of about $230.

Heist goes bad on
Lower East Side
There was an attempted robbery
outside La Nacional store at 105 Clinton
St. on Saturday, Dec. 14, according
to offi cials.
At 2:50 p.m., a 15-year-old male
was inside the location, when a man
wearing a partial mask approached
him from behind and allegedly demanded
money. The would-be robber
then fl ed south on Clinton Street.
No property was taken and the victim
wasn’t hurt.

Package thieves
con the doorman
Detectives are looking for two
men who stole a package containing
an expensive watch from a residential
building in Midtown, police
said.
The two men entered the building
at 7 Park Ave., at East 34th Street,
and told the doorman they were employees
of a man in the building and
were there to pick up a package, according
to officials.
They obtained the package, which
had a Ulysse Nardin watch valued
at over $5,000, then fled in an unknown
direction. Police said the
thieves did not know the victim, a
48-year-old man.
Cops described the thieves as between
30-40 years old, one with a thin
build and a mustache, the other with a
large build and a beard.

Jacket thief gets
busted at Yards
A man was arrested after trying
to shoplift at the Neiman Marcus at
20 Hudson Yards, according to officials.
On Sunday, Dec. 1, around 6:55
p.m., an employee told police that
a man entered the location, took
a Canada Goose jacket valued at
$995, and then left without paying.
The man was stopped by a store
loss prevention officer, and Raymond
Castro, 43, was arrested for
petit larceny, and the jacket was recovered.

Couple cuffed in
domestic dispute
A couple was arrested after a domestic
incident in an apartment at
428 W. 26 St., police said.
On Sunday, Dec. 15, around 11:30
a.m., a 19-year-old woman said she
called 911 because her boyfriend,
20, wouldn’t let her into the apartment.
She also told police that he broke
some of her belongings, including
luggage and a purse.
The man told police that his girlfriend
went into his closet and threw
things out, and that she was kicking
the apartment door and broke the
lock.
He also told police that he was
punched in the face, but said he
wasn’t in any pain.
Both were arrested for criminal
mischief, a misdemeanor.

Fake receipt led
to a big payout
A person used a fake receipt to
steal hundreds of dollars from a
Gristedes supermarket at 307 W. 26
St., officials said.
On Friday, Nov. 22, at 4:50 p.m.,
an unknown suspect allegedly used
a fake Coinstar receipt to obtain
$657 from the business.
There was no information available
about the suspect, who is wanted
for petit larceny.

Crook fails twice in
Lower Man. heist bids
A man tried to rob two banks in
Lower Manhattan on Tuesday, Dec.
17, according to police.
The fi rst incident was around 12:15
p.m. inside a Capital One bank at 277
Broadway. A man entered and allegedly
passed a note to the teller demanding
money and threatening that
he had a bomb.
The teller refused, and the man fl ed
without any money.
Then around 12:28 p.m., inside a
Citibank at 120 West Broadway, the
man entered and allegedly passed a
note demanding money.
Once again, the teller refused, and
the man fl ed without any cash.
There were no injuries from either
incident.

Bank robber hits near Times Square
There was a bank robbery near Times Square on Thursday, Dec. 26, police
said. At 3:55 p.m., a man entered a Capital One bank at 1407 Broadway, approached
a teller and allegedly handed her a note demanding money. The teller
complied, and the man fl ed with $1,000.
