Know the signs
of a scammer.
You’re being scammed if someone claiming to
be from Con Edison:
• Cannot show valid proof of ID
• Demands payment by cash apps like Venmo,
prepaid card, or Bitcoin
• Requests payment for a meter installation
Don’t become a victim. If you suspect a scam, call
