“His charismatic whimsical
Black man bliss and fantastic
attitude in life have led to
him captivating the hearts and
minds of people all over the
world,” Driven, the co-managing
partner of PlaybookMG,
told Caribbean Life. “His expansive
following reached over two
million on social media and all
of the Afrobeat nations.”
Driven said DJ Spinall
has become one of the first
celebrities to bridge the gap
between Afrobeat in Africa and
the world, stating that he’s
“a trendsetter that made the
genre of music a worldwide
phenomenon.”
She said the DJ has created
a distinctive look by adding a
style edge known as TheCAP
to his outfit.
“This move is aimed at showcasing
his style adventure and
also celebrating the African
prints – a style that he would
love to bring to partner up and
to become a brand ambassador
for significant companies
around the world,” said Driven,
stating that the list includes
Alexander McQueen, Dior, Off
White, Adidas and Gucci.
“Not only does he want
more African people to hold
major platforms but also to
connect Africa to the world in
as many positive ways as possible,”
she added. “Not to speak
hypothetically over him partnering
and gaining sponsorship
from major corporations,
Spinall has a resume deserving
of such honors.”
DJ Spinall has released over
40 mixtapes, including, “A
Journey with the Legend Jay
Z”, “The Trinity Mix”, “30 Minutes
To Get Funky”, “Headliners
Party Mix”, “TheCAP House
Mix”, and, recently, “Afro Melody
Mix” and “Best of Both
Worlds” — a blend of Nigerian
and South African music.
In 2015, DJ Spinall released
his debut album, “My Story”,
featuring some of Africa’s heavyweights,
including Mafikizolo,
2face Idibia, Olamide, MI,
Wande Coal, Ice Prince, Tekno,
Burna Boy and Yemi Alade.
ing and gun violence.
Desouvre, who also teaches
marketing at Miami-Dade
College, said Jacques will play
Lucias Goodman, “a brilliant,
seasoned, yet tormented law
enforcement officer, who has
his life thrown into disarray
when his loving wife, prominent
and controversial journalist
Margaret Goodman, is shot
in broad daylight and ends up
in the intensive care unit.”
Overwhelmed with guilt,
while his wife is in a coma, Desouvre
said Lucias is compelled
to confess his most heart-shattering
secret.
“As Lucias proceeds to clear
his conscience, the underlying
threat that simmered in their
marriage for decades begins to
boil over to the point of no
return,” Desouvre said. “Lucias
struggles to make peace with
his past, which has life-changing
consequences in his present
day.”
Using familiar characters
from the 2018 novel “Revelations:
Roads to Redemption”, the
second of the Goodman Chronicles
series, Desouvre said “The
Sweetest Girl: A Forbidden Love
Story” explores the characters’
unique emotional journeys.
“The storylines of complex,
interwoven characters will navigate
through larger themes
of human connection: guilt,
redemption, love and hope,” he
said.
Desouvre said virtual auditions
are still being accepted
for the roles of Margaret, Young
Lucias and Grayson Goodman.
Readers can email Rachel
Finley at sweetestgirlshortfilm@
gmail.com for more information
on auditions.
Desouvre said those with
interest in the film can also join
the indiegogo campaign.
He said Jacques has “the
dynamic talents of an actor,
director and playwright.”
As a versatile actor, he said
Jacques inhabits his roles with
“complete authenticity, making
every scene believable and relatable
to the audience.
“His impeccable stage presence
has garnered roles in films,
stage plays and television series,
such as ‘The Glades,’ ‘Burn
Notice’ and Dwayne Johnson’s
HBO series ‘Ballers,’” Desouvre
said.
He said Jacques has also written
and directed several stage
plays, including “Hoztage” and
“When Good Men Are Tempted”
– both sold-out productions
produced by Godz Sun Productions,
a production company
that Jacques and wife Sandra
Justice operate.
Jeudy, who was born in
Brooklyn, is also a poet.
Desouvre said Jeudy has
more than a decade of experience
in English, African and
African American literature.
He is the founder and principal
owner of Backdoor Entertainment
LLC.
Ladouceur has worked on
countless short films, major
films and television shows, such
as “Person of Interest,” “Unstoppable,”
“Power” and “Boardwalk
Empire,” Desouvre said.
In 2018, he said Ladouceur
directed and produced the short
film, “A Great Day in Harlem,”
which is currently airing in
major markets nationally on
ABC, Fox, CBS and other network
affiliates.
Ladouceur is the founder
of LA PhiLA Productions and
the vice president of Backdoor
Entertainment, LLC.
Desouvre’s latest novella,
“Revelations: Roads to
Redemption,” pays homage to
popular Haitian musician and
song writer Wyclef Jean’s discography.

Driven, the managing partner
of PlaybookMG, said two
artistes, Locx and Don Yute,
“share amazing stories on how
they got collaborations with
iconic artistes.”
For Upstate New York track
embellisher Locx, “getting Dababy
on a track was very surreal
and natural,” Driven said.
“I was in my car, and Dababy
came on the radio, I was digging
his vibe,” Locx said. “After that,
I DM’d him on Instagram and
sent him my music, and he sent
his verse back.”
But Driven said it did not only
stop there. She said Locx also
“flew the Carolina star to New
York, had him perform, and shot
some scenes with him.
“With nothing but genuine
vibes and general excitement,
the collaboration between Locx
and Dababy will be sure to be
a staple on the project,” Driven
said.
She said Don Yute has two
other “essential collaborations”
for the overall culture of music
with Akon himself and the iconic
reggae revolutionist, Sean Paul.
“The story of him meeting
and making songs with Akon is
wholesome and genuine,” Driven
said.
“Since I met Akon in 1996
in Atlanta, Georgia, we became
friends, and we began making
great music together,” Yute said.
“We did a track together named
‘Oh Mama,’ and another song
named ‘This boy.’
“At this year’s past Super
Bowl, I met up with Akon again,
and he wanted to make new
music with me,” he added. “I
said I still have the tracks we did
back in the day, and they’re still
relevant!”
To honor the legacy of Akon,
Driven said Yute wanted these
tracks featured on the upcoming
projects, along with many
records that are remastered, “to
pay homage and to put out quality
music.”
Driven said “a big intuitive
is in place to promote lesserknown
and newer names into
the forefront of music, with the
help of the more prominent
names, of course.”
She said these names include
Alonestar, King Tiger, K’Coneil,
Alistarr, IBRU, Jay Shephard,
Krueshef, VBlock Dutch, Kapo
DiKaprio and Herbert Skillz.
“With much time, effort and
love put into the project, fans
of not only reggae but music
in general, can look forward to
‘Akon And Friends Remastered’
to wow their ear,” said Driven,
disclosing that the project was
set to be released by the end of
April.
