Democratic mayoral candidate
Ray McGuire joined
entrepreneur, creative director
and celebrity stylist Antiguan
born June Ambrose on
Instagram Live on Tuesday.
After the discussion about
McGuire’s “Comeback Plan”
and campaign, Ambrose officially
endorsed Ray McGuire
for mayor of NYC.
“Ray McGuire and his
‘Comeback Plan’ is exactly
what New York City needs
right now,” Ambrose said.
“Ray is a man of integrity,
a leader with a vision and
heart for New Yorkers.
“I’m optimistic about the
future of New York City, and
I’m proud to endorse Ray to
lead the comeback.”
Raised in the Bronx,
Ambrose is an award-winning
creative director, stylist,
costume designer and
entrepreneur who has built
a career creating cultureshifting
moments through
fashion and style.
From designing costumes
for Hype Williams’ Belly to
styling videos for hip hop
heavyweights like Missy
Elliott, P Diddy and Jay Z,
McGuire said Ambrose has
left “an indelible mark on
fashion and created the blueprint
for many of the trends
we see today.”
McGuire said Ambrose
got her start in the theatre
department of her performing
arts high school,
Talented Unlimited in NYC,
where she would create narratives
for various characters
through clothing.
Ambrose graduated from
CUNY Lehman College and
began her career in investment
banking before making
the transition to fashion full
time.
She is now a published
author and has consulted on
television as a style expert for
shows like The Oprah Winfrey
Show and The View.
In 2012, Ambrose starred
in her own show, “Styled by
June,” on VH1, where she
shared her creative process
Ray McGuire Ray. McGuire for Mayor Inc.
with the world.
Most recently, she’s taken
her talents to Puma, where
she is a creative director and
designer.
In 2021, she’ll release
her first collection with the
brand.
“I’m grateful for June’s
support,” McGuire said. “The
‘NYC Comeback’ will include
everyone, and I’m proud that
New Yorkers from every walk
of life are joining this movement.”
